Dealing with Blower Performance Issues in 2013 Nissan Serena - Possible Defroster Flap Control Problem?

Blower does not work properly

Hey folks, I'm dealing with a weird issue on my 2013 Nissan Serena with a Gasoline engine. Recently, the blower doesn't seem to perform well. I'm suspecting it might be due to an issue with the defroster flap control. Any ideas? Has anyone else had this problem and got it fixed? What was your experience with the workshop? Any insights would be appreciated. Cheers.

Hey! I've got some experience wrestling with car issues. I had a similar problem with my 2011 Nissan Qashqai, same brand, just a different model. I'd say I have low to some experience dealing with cars. Took it to my local shop and they found out that the servomotor cable connection was defective. Cost me about 200 Euro to get it fixed. Sorted the problem right out. Don't know much beyond what I experienced but if you could share more info about your Serena it might help dig deeper. What symptoms is your car showing exactly? Any error messages or strange sounds? Cheers.

Hi, thanks for your quick response. My Serena is currently at 141965 KM mileage. Last service was done not too long ago. The blower seems to falter, either blowing too light or too heavy, and doesn't respond well to control adjustments. No error messages so far, but there's this odd rattling sound coming from the dashboard once in a while. I'll definitely get the servomotor cable checked as you mentioned. I hope it won't cost much. Thanks a ton!

Hey! Glad to see your prompt reply. Oh man, that does sound like a bit of a headache. Your symptoms actually do vibe with what happened to my Qashqai. The faltering blower and that rattling sound - that's exactly what I was dealing with. Definitely worth to get that servomotor cable inspected. But remember, while it's a likely suspect, it's not a definite thing. There could be other culprits too like a worn out blower motor or problems with your vehicle's electrical system. Best to leave it to the experts. You know, it might cost a few bucks, but fixing it now could save you from a bigger headache in the long run. Fingers crossed it won't set you back much! Feel free to keep this thread updated on your progress! Always happy to lend a hand. Cheers!

Alright, your advice is really reassuring. I'm definitely gonna get that checked and hope it's nothing worse. I'll set up an appointment with the local auto repair shop this week and have them take a look. I'll share any updates here, would be grand if it helps someone else in the future. Really appreciate your help. Cheers!
