Dead Nav & Audio: Vectra Electrical Issues Help!
Navigationssystem is not working

Thanks! Mine is at 115238 KM and just had the latest service done last month. Those symptoms sound spot on with what I'm experiencing. Did you notice any flickering before the system went completely dead? Just wondering if I should take it to the workshop straight away or if there's anything I can check myself first. The price you mentioned sounds reasonable, was that including labor?
Hey again! Yeah, I remember clearly what happened with my Astra. Actually, before the system went completely dead, I did notice some flickering for about a week or so, especially when going over bumps. That's usually a pretty good sign that there's a loose connection somewhere. Since you mentioned you're at 115k km, it's probably the same issue I had. These Vauxhall models from that era are kind of known for these problems. The 165€ I mentioned was all-in, including labor and parts (though in my case it was mainly labor since they just needed to fix and resecure the connection). If you're handy with cars, you could try checking the connections yourself first. There's a main connector behind the head unit, sometimes it just needs a good clean and reseat. But honestly, given how similar your symptoms are to what I experienced, I'd probably just take it to the workshop. They have the proper diagnostic tools and can check if there's anything else going on while they're at it. Let me know how it goes! Always happy to share experiences with fellow Vauxhall owners.
Thanks so much for all the detailed info! Really helpful to hear about your experience. I think I'll follow your advice and take it straight to the workshop, better safe than sorry, especially with electrical issues. And that price point doesn't seem too bad at all if it sorts everything out. I'll probably book it in next week and see what they say. The flickering thing you mentioned has definitely convinced me it's likely the same issue. Hopefully it's just that connector problem and nothing more serious! I'll update you on how it goes once I get it sorted. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, it's exactly what I was hoping to learn when I posted the question. Cheers!
Hi there! I had a similar issue with my 2005 Vauxhall Astra diesel (I have some experience working on cars, mainly basic maintenance). The symptoms were exactly the same, dead nav system and audio problems. Turned out it was just a faulty cable connection between the main control unit and display. Took it to my regular workshop and they diagnosed it pretty quickly. Total cost was around 165€ to fix the connection and get everything working again. Which engine variant does your Vectra have? Also, have you noticed any other electrical issues? This info would help me understand if you're dealing with the same problem I had. Best of luck!
