Hey again! Yeah, following up on my previous post about my 2015 Outlander's issues, I just had it fixed last week actually. The total bill came to 725€ for replacing the damaged display unit. Not cheap, I know, but I'm happy to report that it solved the problem completely! The audio signal error that was driving me crazy is now gone, and everything's working like new. The navigation system, radio, and all other functions are running perfectly smooth. Haven't noticed any other electrical gremlins since the repair, which is a relief. The dealer's diagnostic equipment really made the difference in pinpointing the exact issue. If you're still having problems, I'd definitely recommend going to a Mitsubishi specialist, it's worth the extra cost to get it done right the first time. These modern car electronics can be super tricky to diagnose without the proper equipment.
Thanks so much for the detailed follow-up! I bit the bullet and took your advice about going to a Mitsubishi specialist. Just got my car back yesterday, and you were spot on, it was indeed the head unit that needed replacing. Cost me around 800€, which stung a bit, but at least everything's working perfectly now. The whole process took about three days because they had to order the part, but the mechanic was super professional and kept me updated throughout. Really glad I didn't try to cheap out with a regular garage. They also did a quick check of the rest of the electrical system and confirmed everything else is fine. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction, definitely saved me from a potential headache with an inexperienced mechanic!
I had a similar issue with my 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander last winter. The infotainment system and nav display went completely dark while driving. Turned out it wasn't just a fuse, the main control unit had failed due to a voltage regulator problem. Got it fixed at my local Mitsubishi dealer since it needed specialized diagnostic equipment. They had to replace the entire head unit. It was a serious repair that took two days to complete, but it's been working perfectly since then. If it's anything like my case, you'll want someone who really knows these electrical systems. Regular mechanics might not have the right diagnostic tools for this kind of problem.
