Thanks for sharing your experience! My Q Hybrid has 77823 KM on it, and I just had its service last month. No warning lights showed up before this happened it just suddenly wouldn't start yesterday morning. Good to know about the wiring harness issue you had. I'll definitely keep that in mind when I take it to the shop. Did you try any troubleshooting steps before taking it in? I'm wondering if I should attempt anything myself first or just have it towed straight to the dealership.
Hey again! Yeah, I was in the exact same boat as you last year with my 2017 Infiniti M Hybrid. Actually, before taking it to the workshop, I did try a few basic troubleshooting steps might save you some time and money. First thing I tried was checking the key fob battery (seems obvious, but you'd be surprised!). Then I also tried using my spare key fob, just to rule that out. Neither worked in my case. Since your mileage is pretty similar to what mine was when this happened (I was at around 80,000 KM), and you're having the identical symptoms, it really does sound like the same wiring harness issue I dealt with. One thing I learned don't waste time trying to fix the ignition switch itself. I spent a good hour poking around there before giving up and getting it towed. These newer Infiniti hybrids have pretty complex electrical systems, and it's usually better to let the pros handle it. If you want my honest advice just get it towed to your dealer. Saved myself a lot of headache in the end by doing that. Let me know how it goes curious to see if it's the same problem I had!
Thanks so much for the detailed advice! Yeah, you're right I just tried both my key fobs and no luck with either. I was tempted to start poking around the ignition switch myself, but after what you've said, I think I'll skip that step and just call for a tow. No point potentially making things worse by messing with the electrical system. I'll have it taken to my local Infiniti dealer tomorrow morning they're actually pretty good with hybrids. Really appreciate you sharing your experience; it's definitely helped me avoid some unnecessary troubleshooting steps. I'll update you once I hear back from the dealer about what the actual issue is. Thanks again for all your help!
Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2017 Infiniti M Hybrid (I also owned a QX50 before). I have some experience working on cars, mainly basic maintenance and troubleshooting. I faced exactly the same symptoms completely dead ignition switch, no response at all. Took it to my regular workshop, and turns out it was a defective wiring harness. They had to replace it, cost me about 95 Euro. The repair was pretty straightforward once they identified the problem, took about 2-3 hours. What's the mileage on your Q Hybrid? Also, are you getting any warning lights on the dash? This info would help me tell if you're dealing with the same issue I had. Feel free to DM me if you need more specific details about the repair!
