Thanks for the input! Yeah, my G's currently at 95811 KM and just had its service last month. I've actually been dealing with this for about 2 weeks now. Had the battery tested at a workshop and it showed low voltage, but I'm a bit hesitant about the battery sensor angle. Did your mechanic run any specific tests to pinpoint the sensor issue? Just trying to avoid replacing parts unnecessarily, you know? The battery's only about 2 years old, so I'm a bit surprised it's acting up already.
Hey again! Yeah, I totally get your hesitation about the sensor I was skeptical too when my mechanic first mentioned it. With my M35, they actually used a proper diagnostic tool to check the entire charging system. The interesting thing was, my battery was also relatively new (about 2.5 years old) when this started happening. The test showed that while the battery itself was holding a decent charge, the car's computer was getting incorrect readings from the sensor, which was causing all sorts of weird behavior. It's actually more common than you'd think on these Infinitis I've seen quite a few similar cases on the forums since my experience. In your case, since your G's battery tested low at a workshop, you might actually be dealing with a straightforward battery issue rather than the sensor problem I had. But here's a quick tip from my experience get the alternator tested too while you're at it. Sometimes these symptoms can be misleading, and it's better to check everything in the charging system at once. Want me to share what specific tests my mechanic ran? Might help you avoid the trial-and-error thing I went through!
Thanks so much for all that detailed info! Yeah, you're right I should probably get the whole charging system checked out. I've actually got an appointment with my mechanic tomorrow morning, and I'll definitely ask them to run those diagnostic tests you mentioned. Better to catch everything at once than keep making trips back to the shop! Really appreciate you sharing your experience with the M35. At least now I know what to look out for and won't be completely in the dark when talking to the mechanic. I'll update the thread once I figure out what's actually causing the problem. Thanks again for all the help!
Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2009 Infiniti M35 (I've got some experience working on cars). My battery was acting up just like yours weak starts, dim lights, the whole deal. Took it to my regular workshop and turns out it wasn't the battery itself but a faulty battery sensor. They had to replace the sensor, cost me around 315 Euro, but it fixed the problem completely. Before you jump to conclusions though, what model year is your G exactly, and how old is your current battery? Also, have you noticed any other electrical issues? This info would help me share more specific details from my experience. BTW, if you're curious why I switched from the M to the Q50 later that's another story!
