Dead Audio & Nav: Grandland Hybrid Owner Seeks Fix

No sound of the Audiosystem

|

Navigationssystem is not working

Hi there! Having issues with my 2022 Vauxhall GrandlandX Hybrid, both audio and nav systems are completely dead. No sound output and navigation won't start up. Suspect it might be related to the audio system function, but not sure. Has anyone encountered similar problems? Would really appreciate hearing about your repair experiences and workshop solutions. What was the actual fix in your case?

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2020 Vauxhall Crossland (I have some experience with Vauxhall models). The sound system completely died, and it turned out to be a defective bass speaker that messed up the whole audio system. Took it to my local workshop, and they had to replace the speaker unit. Cost me around 280€, but it fixed both the audio and the connected systems. Which trim level is your GrandlandX? Also, did you notice any crackling sounds before it died completely? This info could help determine if you're facing the same problem I had.

Thanks for sharing your experience! Mine's actually at 88211 KM and just had its service last month. I haven't noticed any crackling sounds, it just went completely dead one morning. I've got the Elite Nav trim, and everything was working perfectly fine until now. Interesting that your speaker issue affected other systems too, maybe I'm dealing with something similar. Did your warranty cover the repair? Mine should still be under warranty since it's fairly new.

Hey again! Thanks for those extra details about your GrandlandX. Yeah, my situation was a bit different then, I didn't have any warning signs like crackling either, just a complete shutdown like yours. Since yours is a 2022 Elite Nav and still under warranty, you're in a much better position than I was with my 2020 Crossland! From my experience, definitely get it to the Vauxhall dealer ASAP while you're still covered. Mine wasn't under warranty anymore when it happened (hence the 280€ bill), but yours should be totally covered since it's a 2022 model. The Elite Nav trim actually has a more complex audio setup than my Crossland did, so it could be either the speaker unit like mine or possibly something in the infotainment system itself. Quick tip though, before you take it in, try doing a complete system reset (hold the power button for like 10 seconds). That's something the workshop made me try first, and while it didn't fix my issue, it sometimes works for others. Let me know how you get on with it, really curious if it turns out to be the same speaker problem I had!

Thanks for the detailed advice! I just tried the reset you suggested but no luck, still completely dead. You're right though, I should definitely take advantage of the warranty while I have it. I've already called my local Vauxhall dealer and booked it in for next Tuesday morning. Really appreciate the heads-up about the potential speaker unit issue, at least I'll have some idea what to expect when I take it in. Will let you know what they find when they check it out. Fingers crossed it's something straightforward like in your case! Thanks again for all your help and sharing your experience, it's been super useful!
