Hey there! You have no idea how much your response has cleared things up for me. It sounds exactly like the issue I'm experiencing. Can you remember, by any chance, how much you shelled out to get it all fixed? And, fingers crossed, no other related problems have popped up since then, right? Thanks again for your help!
Hey! Glad to hear my previous experience helped a bit. As for the cost, it set me back 210 Euro to sort out the worn gear in the oil of the transfer case. Since going to the mechanic, the oil wear in the transfer case has been resolved with no further problems arising. Also, the ABS issue and the transmission have been smooth as silk. So yeah, post-fix, no additional issues have popped up which is a relief! It was worth every cent considering how these issues could have snowballed into bigger problems. Just give it a once-over with a reliable mechanic and you should be good to go. And remember, the peace of mind you get after sorting out your car issues, priceless! Catch you on the flip side!
Hey there! My ride's a 2019 Dacia Sandero Stepway and I had almost the same symptoms a while ago! That whiny, grinding noise and the slip-shifting sounds you described are spot on. Plus my ABS light was acting like it was at a DJ's disco. I also suspected some problem with the oil wear in the transfer case. So I took mine to the garage, and guess what? The issue indeed was a worn gear in the oil of the transfer case. The mechanic explained that the wear was causing the transfer case to perform poorly which, in turn, affected the overall transmission performance - hence the slip-shifting. Furthermore, this wear also messed with the ABS sensors leading to the warning light issue. It turned out to be quite a serious issue mainly because of the connection to the ABS and the wear apparently had been ongoing for a while, unnoticed. So, you're right on the money with your assessment and I recommend getting it checked out as soon as you can. While these correct themselves very rarely, they do turn into bigger problems if overlooked for too long. Hope this helps, good luck with the fix!
