Hey, glad to hear I'm not alone with this tailgate drama! Sounds like your Duster gave you a bit of a scare there. It's a relief to know it wasn't as grim as it initially seemed. Cheers for the scoop! Just a quick one though, do you recall how much that cable replacement and sensor recalibration set you back? Also, since fixing it, has anything else cropped up related to this? It would be really useful to get an idea of possible future gremlins lurking down the line! Thanks!
Hey there! Oh, I remember alright, the invoice was a spicy one! The cable replacement itself chewed up about 95€ of my wallet. Not exactly what you'd want to be spending on a regular basis, right? And those pesky future gremlins you're worried about? I've been keeping a close eye on my Duster since the repair and, touch wood, the tailgate's been behaving. Once they sorted the Hall sensor, things returned to normal. It hasn't caused any more ruckus, so let's hope it stays that way! Fingers crossed your Spring follows a similar easy, fix-it-and-forget-it path. Happy driving!
Hey, appreciate the heads up on the cost there! A bit steep, but, if it puts an end to all this tailgate hullabaloo, it's money well spent. I can handle the odd expenses, it's just not knowing what's up that gets on my nerves! It's fantastic to hear that your Duster has been behaving alright post-repair. Gives me hope that this might just be a one-time problem. I'll get my Spring to the garage pretty quickly now, hoping for that "fix-it-and-forget-it" result you mentioned! I'll keep my fingers crossed, and will update you on how it goes. Thanks for all the advice and good vibes! Safe travels and keep in touch. Cheers!
Hey, just read your post and it really rang a bell. Had a similar thing happen with my 2019 Dacia Duster. Not electric, but same weird glitch with the tailgate. Meantime, this annoying warning light would show up every now and then right on my dash. Thought it was some simple fuse or wiring issue you know? But turned out to be a defective cable, a serious enough issue to concern me. You're spot on about the Hall sensor though. The issue was related to it in my case. The bugger refused to read the door status correctly and needed a thorough lookover at the garage. Long story short, they ended up replacing the defective cable and did some recalibration with the sensor. After that the tailgate came back to life and stopped its tantrums. Funny how such little things can make a big difference, eh? Frustrating it might be, but hang in there! Most of the time, it's solvable. Cheers!
