Hey there, seems like your number really came up with that Duster! But, I'm glad to hear you could sort it out eventually. It’s giving me some hope! Appreciate your input. Could you jog your memory and give me a ballpark figure of what that damage cost you to fix? And since that fix-up, did you stumble upon any other hitches with the unit? I'm trying to do some budgeting and also checking if a new storm is brewing around the corner. Thanks a lot!
Hey! Tell me about it, right? Seeing your car's AC throw a fit sure gives you a bit of a scare, especially when the temperature knobs start acting like they've got a mind of their own! About your queries - to get that climate control unit replaced, it set me back by about 880€. Not something that I was particularly excited about, but hey, gotta keep the beast in shape! And to put your mind at ease, post the replacement, it's quite literally been like a cold breeze on a hot day. No further hitches or glitches with the unit, and I've got to say, it operates just like the day my Duster rolled off the lot. So, for now, at least, the storm seems to have passed. Fingers crossed it stays that way! I hope this helps you brace for the oncoming expenses and keep your car cool, literally! All the best!
Thanks, dude, for sharing the straight dope! Appreciate the further details and the assurance. I feel a little sting about the 880€ tag but then, as they say - better the devil you know, eh!? I mean whatever keeps the wheels turning, right? At least now, I know where I stand financially and also what to look forward to (or not)! Also, it’s somehow comforting to know that there hasn’t been any recurring meltdown, post your AC fix. Here’s hoping my luck plays out the same way. Looks like a mechanic hunt is brewing soon. And hopefully, Dacia fixes these issues in future models. Thanks again for all your insights, it's been a relief! Catch you soon! Cheers!
Hey! I feel ya! A while back, I had similar issues with my 2018 Dacia Duster when it hit around the 80k milestone. My climate control unit started acting all wonky - heat wouldn't really heat and cool was basically room temp. Took it to my local garage and the mechanic did some digging around. Turned out, the whole Climate Control Unit had to be replaced. It wasn't just a single part; the whole unit was defective. The problem's a bit of a nasty one, I won't sugarcoat it. It seems like Dacias in these model years, although rare, do suffer this kinda stuff. Fixing it did take a little elbow grease and required a skilled mechanic, but once it got swapped out, it worked like a charm. So, it's not a small issue per se, but don't sweat too much, it's fixable. You're gonna need a good mechanic though, preferably one familiar with Dacia models. Good luck and hope you sort it all out soon! Cheers!
