Dacia Sandero 2016: Navigation and Audio Systems Failure - Possible Issue with Speakerphone Microphone?

Audio system is not working

|

Navigationssystem is not working

Hey! I'm having a bit of a situation with my 2016 Dacia Sandero that runs on gasoline. Recently, both the Navigation and Audio systems went totally silent on me. I've got this hunch that it might be due to a faulty Speakerphone microphone, but I wanted to see if anyone else experienced a similar situation. I'd appreciate if you could share how you diagnosed the issue and got it fixed by your workshop. Any tips or insights from your end would be a big help in sorting this out. Thanks a lot!

Hey there, I had a somewhat similar problem with my 2014 Dacia Duster, so I get the struggle! Just so you know, I have some experience with cars - not an expert, but been around the block a few times. The infotainment system started acting up and eventually crapped out on me - navigation, audio, all of it. Turned out it was a defective infotainment system for me, not the speakerphone mic. I took it to my trusty garage, and those good diagnosed the problem and got it sorted. Stung a little 'cause it cost me 815€, but it's worked like a charm since then. Can you tell me about any recent changes to your car? Any minor accidents, alterations to the audio system, or stuff like that? It might help to pinpoint your trouble. Hope this helps a bit!

Thanks so much for your response! It's quite comforting to know that I'm not alone in this. As for recent changes, I had a regular service done at 35k KM, and currently, she's clocked around 36132 KM. No accidents or modifications, thankfully. She's been running pretty smoothly up until this audio mess. I've been really meticulous about keeping things original, so this issue truly caught me by surprise. I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and get the infotainment system checked out at my local garage, like you did. Ouch for the potential cost, though. Well, here's hoping it's something minor. Thanks again for your insight!

You're welcome! Your attention to detail and meticulous car maintenance surely deserve a salute. Cars can indeed throw a surprise or two at us despite our best efforts. Sounds like your Sandero has been well-cared for! The numbers you mentioned suggest quite a good run. A faultless journey till 36K KM is excellent and tells us that the overall health of your car is commendable. Considering you haven't had any accidents or modifications, it really could just be a part of the infotainment system that has gone awry. Sometimes, unfortunately, it's just down to either wear and tear or a defective part. The cost can be a bit painful, yeah. But, it's one of those things that once sorted will most likely not give you any more trouble. Remember, it's better to have an operative navigation system. It seems like a luxury until you get lost on one of those countryside roads! Do let us know how it goes at the garage. I'm guessing like mine, your local technicians will do a pretty neat job diagnosing and fixing the issue, and who knows, it might actually turn out to be a smaller issue than you've imagined. Fingers crossed for you!

Really appreciate the encouragement and understanding! It's great to feel heard when dealing with such unforeseen quirks that our cars throw at us. I agree with your point about wear and tear and the possible defective part, it's all part and parcel of owning a vehicle. Can't avoid it no matter how cautious we are, I guess. Ah, that countryside road scenario sounds dreadful- a definite reminder of how useful a navigation system is. Thanks for putting that into perspective for me! I'll go ahead and book an appointment with my local garage as soon as possible. Hopefully, it'll be a straightforward fix, nothing too time-consuming or heavy on the pocket. Your words definitely helped to ease my worries a bit. I'll keep you posted on how things go. Long may the good health of our cars continue! Cheers for the help and the cross-fingers, really appreciated!
