Hey there, appreciate you sharing your experience with your Duster. It does sound like a similar case to what my Sandero's up to right now. Your story definitely makes me think it could be the DPF causing the ruckus, not just the sensor. If you don't mind me asking, can you recall how much you had to shell out to get the issue fixed? Also, since you replaced the DPF, have there been any other related issues creeping up or has your ride been smooth sailing since then? Cheers in advance!
Hey, no problem at all, glad my experience could give you some insight. After going back to the mechanic, they told me the exhaust back pressure sensor was indeed faulty, but thankfully it was fixed along with the DPF issue. Basically, the real wallet buster was the DPF replacement. The total damage was around 1325€. Yeah, I know, it was a hell of a cost for the DPF being severely overloaded. But, you gotta do what you gotta do, right? And to answer your other question, after the hit to the wallet, thankfully my Duster has been running like a dream since then. No other related problems have sprung up. Remember, going for a trusted and reputable garage this time will make the world of difference. You got this and fingers crossed for a swift and not too costly resolution for your Sandero! Safe driving!
Cheers for the detailed response! That price tag does seem steep, but as you said, you gotta do what you gotta do for the love of our rides, eh? Glad to hear your Duster has been running smoothly since the fix, gives me hope for my Sandero! You're absolutely right about going to a reputable garage. I've learnt my lesson from the last hasty decision, this time it's all about thorough research and thoughtful choice. Thanks again for all the advice and well wishes! Drive safe and take care!
Hey! Well, as it sounds, your Dacia is quite the same story as my 2012 Dacia Duster. Faced a similar sort of DPF problem which was a bit of a pain. Yeah, turned out to be a severely overloaded DPF in my case. The 'check engine' light kept nagging and there was a noticeable loss in power. Couldn't even kick off the regeneration. My mechanic ran a diagnosis and thought the exhaust back pressure sensor could be responsible, but upon further checks, it was the DPF causing all the mayhem. So, I had to replace it cause apparently, it was severely overloaded. It was a serious issue indeed but the silver lining here is it got fixed. So yeah, in my opinion, it seems your Dacia might need the same check. However, I would advise going to a well-reputed workshop to avoid any unnecessary hassle. Know the situation sucks, but hang in there and hope it gets sorted soon! Good luck!
