Hey! You've hit the nail on the head! Your experience mirrors mine, and now I have a new lead on what could possibly be causing the issues. Massive thanks for that! I'll not waste a second more and get my Sandero straight to a trustworthy garage. I surely don't want to risk anything worsening. That being said, I'm curious about the damage to your wallet though. Any chance you remember how much the fixing cost you? And has any related issue sprang up ever since, or has your Dacia been behaving well? Appreciate the help! Cheers.
Hey! No problem at all, glad to be of help! Now onto the financials - the sting in the tail, eh? So to weed out the culprit, they had to get to the steering column switch cable and that set me back by around 155€. Bit steep, maybe, but this pesky steering column switch cable issue needed a sure shot solution. Now to the good part - since it was sorted, my Dacia's been a real good girl - just as you'd want. No more bizarre windshield wiper antics or absent headlight cleaning systems. Just smooth driving since the mechanic waved his magic ratchet. So don't you worry. It'll be a bit of a hit to the wallet but you'll have peace of mind in return. And that's priceless, innit? Cheers!
Hey! Many thanks for sharing the cost and the post-repair experience. Yeah, the sting ain't so pleasing but looking on the brighter side, safety and peace of mind are paramount, right? So, I guess it's worth a minor blow to the wallet. Glad to hear your Dacia's behaving well, gives me hope! Just got an appointment fixed with a recommended garage for tomorrow. Fingers crossed for a trouble-free experience. I'll ensure to share how things go, might help someone stuck in the same boat! Really appreciate your help. You've been a lifesaver! Cheers!
Hey there, Yepp, from your description it sounds very similar to a situation I had with my 2013 Dacia Logan not too long back. Started with wonky windscreen wipers, then the headlight system packed in too. Took me some time to figure out, but it turned out to be a faulty steering column switch cable. Did the mistake of ignoring it initially, thinking it was a minor glitch. But it wasn't. The wipers got progressively worse and the headlights would out of nowhere stop working which was a massive hazard. So, it is a serious issue and I'd suggest getting it checked out sooner rather than later. The mechanic did a pretty solid job fixing it though. Had to replace the entire cable connected to the steering column switch. It wasn't exactly a quick fix, and I was without my car for a bit, but once done, both the wipers and the headlight cleaner system have been working like a dream. So my advice, get her into a garage, preferably one that knows their way around Dacias, and get that steering column switch cable checked. Don't let it slide. And don't worry, it can be sorted. Hope this helps. Cheers!
