Dacia Sandero's Troublesome Electric Auxiliary Heater: Seeking Advice

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

|

Blower does not work properly

Hey, got a tricky situation here with my '11 Dacia Sandero, gas engine, clocked about 124K kilometers. I've been struggling with sketchy cooling/heating, and the blower's acting up big time. Got a hunch, it could be the Electric auxiliary heater giving me grief. Last mechanic visit was a nightmare, don't want a repeat. Anyone here dealt with something like this before? How'd your mechanic fair? Appreciate any advice you got!

Hey! I get where you're coming from and, honestly, it does sound like you're onto something with the Electric auxiliary heater. I've got a '14 Dacia Duster, diesel engine, with roughly around the same mileage and I had a similar problem. The heating and ventilation system started messing up on me just the same. Took it into my local garage and sure enough it was the Electric auxiliary heater acting up. They had to replace the whole thing, given the wear and tear it had. It's a fair bit of work so you might be in for a couple of days without your car, depending on how quick and busy your garage folk are. But hey, cheer up, it's not a serious issue like a failing transmission or a busted engine. It's more of a comfort issue than a functionality one. Your car should still be safe and drive as usual, but I'd recommend getting it sorted sooner rather than later to avoid any potential additional problems. Hope this helps!

Hey, that's a relief to hear it's not a super serious issue - cheers for that! I was kinda freaking out here. Spot on about the comfort issue though, especially now when the weather is all over the place. Just wondering, do you recall how much did it set you back to replace the whole Electric auxiliary heater? Also, did you run into any other related issues down the line or has everything been chill since the replacement?

Hey again! Ah, the cash bit, right. Well, the price to fix that pesky Electric auxiliary heater wasn't too shabby, cost me about 350 €. So prepare your wallet for a little hit there. And hey, since I forked out the cash, no more malfunctions or headaches! It was like a breath of fresh air. No other problem has popped up since the repair. Gotta say, after the swap, the heater's been running like a champ. There's peace in the kingdom again, ha-ha! So yeah, it's totally worth it in my opinion. Just bite the bullet and you'll be riding in comfort in no time!

Thanks champ, that's exactly what I needed to hear! Was bracing for a gargantuan bill, but 350 € seems reasonable in the grand scheme of things. Mostly I want the bloomin' gizmo to just do its job without me freezing or roasting in traffic! Good on you for the reassurance, the peace in your kingdom gives me hope for mine, ha-ha! Guess it's time to put the old girl in the shop. Really appreciate your time and help. Be safe and keep those chill vibes coming!
