Hey there, cheers for sharing your own encounter. That sounds well similar to the things I've been witnessing with my Lodgy. I reckon it's quite possibly the fuel vent hoses at fault. Just curious, if you don't mind me prying, could you recall what you had to fork out for the repairs? And since fixing it, any other issues knock on wood, or has it been smooth sailing?
Hey, you bet. Off the top of my head, the cost for replacing the hoses came to around 175 Euro, which I'd say was well worth it. The tank vent system issue was causing quite a nuisance, but since having it fixed, I'm pleased to tell you that it's been smooth sailing. The engine has definitely regained its steady nature, no more oddball shaky idling or power loss. Pretty stoked about it. Definitely agree with what you're guessing, it might be the hoses acting up. Don't hold off on getting it fixed. Cheers!
Ah, thanks a ton! That sheds a decent amount of light for me and the pricing doesn't sound too bad either. It's reassuring to know you've had no further issues after your repair. Guess I'll have to bite the bullet, shake off my past garage nightmares and get it checked out pronto before it escalates into anything more serious. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, cheers! Will update you on how it goes. Till then, drive safe!
Hey. I feel you. I had a similar issue with my 2019 Dacia Duster, diesel though. Noticed the same symptoms you're talking about - dodgy engine, occasional stalling, that sort of jazz. It did turn out for me that the vent system was playing up. In fact, it was the fuel vent hoses that were causing all the trouble. At the garage, they found the hoses had cracked, possibly due to wear and tear, causing incorrect pressure regulation. That was messing with the fuel supply to the engine hence the troubled performance. The mechanic replaced the damaged hoses as well as gave a good cleaning to the element around. And for good measure, they reset the check engine light after resolving the issue. It's worth knowing, this wasn't a small issue. If left unattended, it could lead to more severe problems involving the entire fuel system and maybe even engine damage. So, while your last garage experience might have been rough, don't let that put you off. Get it checked out before it gives you bigger problems. It's a fairly common issue, they'll know what to do. Good luck with it.
