Dacia Lodgy 2015 Model: Issues with Convertible Top and Warning Light on Speedometer

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Convertible top cannot be opened or closed

Hey, my Dacia Lodgy (2015 model, Gasoline) has been acting a bit off lately. Noticed the following issues: convertible top ain't opening/closing and there's a warning light glowing in the speedometer. Could it be due to the wrong signal from the Hall sensor of the top? Has anyone else faced similar issues and how was it resolved in the workshop? Would appreciate any tips or suggestions. Thanks!

Hey! I've got a Dacia Sandero Stepway, a 2013 model. It had a similar issue some time back. My car expertise level is somewhere around 'some experience', so I'm inclined to tell you that it indeed could be due to a faulty signal from the Hall sensor. However, in my case, it was the cables and the plug connection causing the problem. The local mechanic sorted it out for me, and the total damage on my wallet was around 95 Euro. Did you have a look at the wiring and connection yet? Can you share more about the current condition of your vehicle? It'll help me give you more targeted advice. Cheers!

Hey there! Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it. I haven't had a chance to check out the wiring yet; it's next on my to-do list. My Lodgy has about 62219 KM on it, last serviced a couple of months back. I suspect the mechanic might've missed out on something. I'll get the wiring checked based on your suggestion. Cheers!

Hey! No worries, glad to help. Yeah, sounds like these issues might've been overlooked during the last service. Checking the wiring would be a good move. It's also a good idea to have another look at the Hall sensor. Sometimes they can misbehave due to dust or dirt interfering with the magnetic field. If the sensor or wiring isn't the issue, perhaps it might be worth looking into the hydraulic system of the convertible top or the ECU (Engine Control Unit). Anyway, keep us updated on your progress and let's see if we can beat this problem together. Take care!

Thanks! I'll definitely give the wiring and Hall sensor a thorough check. And if the issue persists, I'll look into the hydraulic system and ECU as well. This has been super helpful! I'll certainly update you guys on how it goes. Cheers and stay safe!
