Hey! That totally makes sense! And it's a relief to know I'm not alone with these weird Dacia problems. Your ordeal with that cable connection sounds like it was a proper pain in the backside, though. If you don't mind me asking, do you remember the toll it took on your wallet to get all that sorted out? I guess the saying "Dig a well before you're thirsty" applies here. I really do need to find a reliable mechanic before something bigger decides to kick the bucket in the Duster. Speaking of which, have you run into any other problems after the mechanic tackled your heated window situation? Cheers!
Hey there, Absolutely, nobody wishes to go through such Dacia surprises! Regarding the expenses, to mend that cable connection and to repair the dodgy plug on the mirror glass, it set me back around 155€. I know, it's not exactly loose change, but seeing as the exterior mirror heating now works like a charm, it's money well spent in my eyes! Ever since then, there haven't been any major bumps in the road, fingers crossed. All things considered, it makes a world of difference when you find a mechanic who knows their craft. They tend to not only fix the issues but also give you valuable advice on preventing similar problems in future. Good luck hunting down a competent mechanic. It'll keep that old Duster going strong! Cheers!
Hey! Appreciate your sharing! Glad to hear your Logan has been behaving pleasingly ever since. The price tag does sound a bit hefty, but if that’s what it takes to keep the old girl running, it’s all good. After all, it’s probably cheaper than a complete breakdown in the middle of nowhere on a freezing night. Well, seems like it's about time I found myself a skilled mechanic. Hopefully, one that doesn't see my Duster as a gold mine. Cheers to keeping the faith in our Dacias, hey? Thanks again for your help! Cheers!
Hey there, Actually, I had a pretty similar issue with my 2013 Dacia Logan, so I can relate to your predicament. At first, I was baffled by why my heated windows and exterior mirrors weren't functioning. Turned out there was a cable connection to the mirror that was defective. The mechanic at the garage explained to me that the plug connection stuff on the mirror glass gets oxidized over time, which messes up the whole system. In my case, it wasn't a super serious issue. But I have to tell you that the whole process was a bit of a hassle though. The mechanic had to replace the defective cable and clean up the oxidized plug connection on the mirror glass. After that, everything was back up and running fine. So, I'd suggest you get your car checked by a different mechanic who could properly diagnose the issue. Best to deal with it before it affects something more crucial in the system. Hope this helps!
