Hey! Thanks for the quick reply. My Dokker's got 129547 KM on the odometer. Apart from the regular oil, filter services, and tyres changed at about 95000 KM, it hasn't had any significant repairs. Latest service was a few months back, sometime around my car hitting 125000 KM. The mechanic then told me everything looked to be in good condition. I have a bit of mileage on it, but I've always tried to maintain it well, you know? Sincerely hope it's an easy fix like your Sandero. Thanks for the tip!
No worries, happy to help! By the sound of your maintenance, you've taken good care of your Dokker. Honestly, high mileage isn't always a bad thing, it just means your ride has been reliable for you. As for your problem, based on your description and my previous experience, I still reckon it relates to the boost pressure control position sensor. The sensor could be functioning incorrectly, or it might be choked with carbon build-ups. If it’s not reading the pressure correctly, the turbo could over-boost and get excessively pressurized, fact that would make your vehicle spit out black smoke. The issues with acceleration, stalling, and hissing could connect to this as well. It happened to my Sandero, the valve got choked up and was causing similar issues as you're having now. Try having a mechanic look in that area, especially if the trouble code from your check engine light points towards a turbo pressure/control issue. Ultimately, it's always best to get a pro to diagnose it just to save yourself from later headaches. Don't stress too much. Cars can be irksome at times, but there's always a solution. Just remember to let us know how it goes, yeah?
Hey! I absolutely will! I’m going to take it in and have a professional look at it, like you suggested. Will pay closer attention to the boost pressure control position sensor. It kinda eases my mind to think that it's potentially not a super complicated issue but just something that needs a bit of attention. Really appreciate your insight - it's given me a direction to go in. I'll keep you updated once I've sorted it all out. Thanks again, cheers!
Hey there! I had a similar problem with my 2013 Dacia Sandero, which ain't too different from your Dokker. I don't claim to be a seasoned mechanic, but let's say I have some experience from having fixed a few things on my own ride. From what you describe, it does sound like it could be a problem with the boost pressure control position sensor, as that can cause those sorts of issues. For me, it was an electrical bypass valve that was defective. The workshop had to get it replaced, cost me about 250€. But of course, every situation is different. Can you give more information about your vehicle? Mileage, maintenance history, recent repairs? That info can help pin down the exact issue. If it's the same problem I encountered, you're looking at a fairly straightforward fix!
