Hey there! Your story totally rings a bell. Had a similar headache with my Dacia two years back. Totally agree with, could be some air trapped messing up the brake feel and lights. Once my mechanic fixed it, the ABS light went out and the braking got way better. Just out of curiosity, do you remember how much it set you back to get that sorted? And has anything else cropped up since then? Cheers!
Hey, totally understand your concern. You're right, the situation I described did set me back a bit, but considering the safety issues involved, I reckoned it was worth it. Getting the brake system bled took care of the sponginess, and clearing the signal error from the brake booster pressure sensor took care of the bizarre dash light. Cost-wise, let me jog my memory a bit... yep, it was around 90€ for the brake bleeding. Since getting those fixed, everything's been smooth sailing with my Dacia. So I'd say bite the bullet and get it sorted ASAP. Safety first!
You guys are awesome! Thanks for sharing your experiences. It certainly sounds a lot like the problem I'm dealing with. Honestly, price isn't my major concern here - it's all about making sure the car is safe for me and the family. I'd hate for the brakes to fail while we're travelling at speed, so I guess a trip back to the mechanic is in order. Let's hope they do a better job this time around! Cheers, lads! Beep Beep!!
Hey. I can totally relate to your situation. I had a similar issue last year with my 2014 Dacia Duster. It was pretty much the same symptoms - light going haywire, brakes feeling like a marshmallow, the works! Turns out the brake system had been incorrectly bled – quite a serious issue, really. Definitely something you don't want to leave unchecked. If the braking system isn't properly bled, it can lead to air getting trapped in the brake lines, causing the brakes to feel unresponsive or 'spongy', just like you've described. It could also confuse the ABS system and trigger that pesky light. The mechanic had to thoroughly bleed the system again to remove any air pockets. In my case, he also had to replace the ABS pressure sensor. Because your case sounds similar, it might be the same issue. Either way you gotta sort it out before it gets worse. Anyway, hope this helps, and good luck with it!
