Hey there, sounds like you had the exact same ordeal. Cheers for the info cleared up a few things for sure. So, was it a simple matter of cleaning and resetting the DPF or did you have to replace the whole thing? By the way, any recollection of how much the wallet cry was for getting it solved? Also, has anything else related to this popped up since? Fingers crossed it hasn't, though!
Hey! Yeah, the ordeal was quite similar. After the mechanic inspected it, turned out my Diesel particulate filter was heavily loaded due to its high mileage. Unfortunately, it wasn't just a simple clean and reset. I ended up needing to replace the whole DPF. That was a bit of a sting, I can tell you. The damage to my wallet was around 1550 Euro. Quite pricey, but definitely worth each penny considering the serious trouble it could've unleashed, if left unchecked. Luckily, since that fix, everything's been running smooth. No other related issues have popped up which is a relief! Fingers crossed it stays this way. Let's hope your Dacia doesn't give you too much trouble either!
Ah, I surely wasn't expecting it would be as pricey as this! But I completely get you better to be safe than sorry. Glad to hear that you haven't had any relapses. So, I guess it's off to the garage for me then. I'm definitely not looking forward to the wallet crying part, but at least it’ll save me from further trouble down the road. Thanks a lot for your insights, you’ve been a great help. Hopefully, my Dacia Dokker won’t throw up any more surprises! Cheers!
Hey, sounds like your hunch could be spot on. Similar thing happened with my 2013 Dacia Sandero, just a few more miles on it though. It was chugging out black smoke and running rough, too. Mechanic straight away thought the diesel particulate filter (DPF) might be the villain of the piece. Turns out he was right. DPF has to regenerate itself frequently to burn off the soot particles. If you're doing short journeys or using low quality fuel then it may not regenerate properly causing it to clog up with soot. That's what happened with mine. Once it was cleaned and reset, everything went back to normal. The DPF issue can be quite serious. If left ignored it could cause some substantial damage. So, yeah, it's better to get it checked sooner rather than later. Hope that helps.
