Hey! Cheers for the reply. Definitely reassuring to know I'm not alone in this Dokker debacle. So it's the worn-out glow plug, huh? Thought that might be it. When you had it replaced, do you recall how much you were set back? And here's another thing: post-repair, did you happen to run into any other related issues? Or was everything smooth sailing from there? Thanks a ton for your help! Safe roads to you as well.

Hey back at ya! Reassured to see I could help out a bit. The deal with the glow plug, yeah, it had definitely worn its life out in my Dacia. About the cost, well, it didn't exactly come cheap. I forked out 560€ to get my glow plug switched to a new one. But once it was out with the old and in with the new, my car's been running just as sweet as it always did. It's been smooth sailing since then, no run-ins with any other issues, thank god. Honestly, all things considered, it's really worth the cash to have that peace of mind, rather than constantly grumbling at the check engine light. Safe driving!

Hey, thanks for the quick response, and a big thank for sharing your experience. If it's sorted out all the issues for you, I guess this is a bullet I'll just have to bite. Here I was hoping it wouldn't be too costly, but safety and peace of mind are priceless, right? Fully grasping that no sane driver should be grumbling at a check engine light, I'll be taking my car back to another mechanic this week. Really appreciate all your advice! Fingers crossed my Dacia sails smoothly afterward, too. Safe driving!

Hey there! Not too long ago, I was dealing with a similar issue with my 2016 Dacia Sandero, so you're not alone in this. Honestly, it does sound like a glow plug problem. Mine was also showing the check engine warning, and the start-ups especially in the cold were a struggle, same as you mentioned with your Dokker. And yeah, the entire fuel efficiency went down the drain. Turns out the glow plug was worn out. The mechanic explained it was fairly normal given the mileage on my car. This is likely what's causing the pre-glow light to stick around, it's the car's way of saying "Hey, something's not right here!" The black smoke you mentioned could be due to a choked DPF and it might be needing a good old regeneration or, worst-case scenario, a replacement. But here's the thing, this isn't something you want to ignore. The wear on the glow plug and a potential DPF issue, both could cause some serious trouble, not trying to scare you here, just speaking from experience. Get it checked out ASAP. Should sort things out for you. Safe driving!
