Dacia Dokker's Persistent Blower, Temperature Control, and Warning Light Issues: Could it be a Faulty Outdoor Temperature Sensor?

Hey! I've been having a tough time lately with my '12 Dacia Dokker, petrol version, 113,628 KM on the clock. The blower's been on the fritz, the temperature control's been iffy, and a warning light keeps flashing on my speedometer. I'm not much of a car guy, but could it have something to do with a faulty outdoor temperature sensor? Last time I took it to the mechanics it was a bit of a nightmare, so I'd like to hear your experiences with similar problems and how your mechanics handled the situation. Thanks in advance!

Hey, sounds like you and I have stumbled into a similar spot of bother. Funny thing, I had a '09 Dacia Logan with pretty much the same symptoms; dodgy blower, temperamental temp control, y'know the drill. Like yours, mine had a weird warning light situation popping up now and then. Turns out, you're spot-on, my outdoor temp sensor was acting up with a dodgy cable connection. The sensor itself wasn't the issue - rather the connection to it had slipped a gear, so to speak. My local workshop guys had me sorted in no time. They checked the sensor and plugs, found a loose connection, and remedied it - didn't even need to replace the sensor. It just needed some solid reconnection work, cleaning, and tightening. Reckon in the car game, connection issues are pretty common. Not the worst problem to have, if I must say. I'm pretty relieved it wasn't anything more serious. So no worries your Dokker should be back in the fray in no time. Good luck at the garage!

Hey there, your story sounds eerily similar to mine! I had a '13 Dacia Dokker with that infamous blinking light too! I felt like I was staring at a disco ball while driving, I tell ya. I'm not magic with cars, but your note about the outdoor temp sensor had me thinking, because that was causing all sorts of havoc in my old Dacia. Thankfully, some clever chaps at my local garage tinkered with mine. Like in your case, they detected a flimsy connection which theyaged to fix without needing a new sensor altogether. Do you remember roughly what it cost to sort the whole mess out? Also, anything else popped up since you got that fixed or has your Dacia been behaving? Curious to know how others fare post-fix. Cheers!

Hey there, good to see another Dokker comrade in the house! Ah, yes, the brilliant rave lights we've all danced with. After my visit to the mechanics, they definitely gave my outdoor temp sensor's cable and plug connections a good going over. Sorted out the whole shenanigan for around 155€. Might sound a pinch steep but way better than getting a whole new part, right? And to put your mind at ease, after the fix, my Dokker's been purring away like a kitten on a warm radiator. No more surprise disco parties and the Dashboard’s been a smooth sailing. Except for the regular wear and tear, there haven't been any major issues since. Apparently, getting that cabling tightened up did wonders! So relax your ride'll be back in good nick in no time! Cheers!

Heydies, good to hear you've both been through this weird sensor circus too! Appreciate all the lovely advice. 155€ does sound a tad pricey, but if it saves me from continuously dealing with this blinking rave light scenario it's probably worth it, right? Glad to hear the fix has kept your Dokkers on the straight and narrow - does give me a bit of hope. Going to take it into my local shop and see if they can't sort it out. Will keep you guys posted. Fingers crossed it's nothing more than a loose connection! Cheers for the help, fellas!
