Hey! What a saga with your LX! Guess these lux rides show us who's boss now and then, right? Sounds like you managed to nip the issue in the though. Good on ya! I'm particularly keen on understanding how heavy it got on your wallet cause, you know, we've all had those garage trips when the receipt looked scarier than the problem itself! If you don't mind sharing, how much did it set you back? Also, has your dashboard been behaving itself since the fix, or have you spotted any spookiness cropping up again? Just trying to scout what other surprises my RX might whip up after the initial fix. Ta and ride on!
Hey! Haha, you're not wrong about these lux rides having a mind of their own sometimes! But yes, took care of the issue before it could become a well-fledged car drama. Well, speaking of cost, it wasn't that bad considering the headache the issue was causing me. The bill came down to €155 for the replacement and the fixing of that pesky cable connection to the sensor. Not exactly pocket change, but not a wallet fiesta either. In my book, money well spent to have the old girl back in tip-top shape! Since the fix, it's been smooth sailing, knock on wood! No more unusual alerts popping up on the dashboard to scare the living daylights out of me while cruising around. And importantly, the cruise control's been steady as a rock since the mechanic set his hands on it. So, I'd say it was a pretty successful mission in the end. Hope your RX doesn't pull out any more cheeky surprises! Take care and happy motoring!
Hey! So good to hear the LX is behaving itself again and that dent in the wallet wasn't too massive. €155 for peace of mind on the road - I reckon that's money spent wisely! Based on your experience, I'm gearing up my RX lady for a trip to the mechanic. And who knows, might end up with a good old cable-to-sensor connection story to tell, eh? Owe you one for this story. Here's hoping our wheels turn smoothly and our dashboards stay quiet! Cheers and safe driving, fella!
Hey there, Sounds like you're going through a bit of a pickle Cruise control acting up can be a pain. I had a similar glitch pop up on my '04 Lexus LX, a beaut but a grumpy one at times. She'd gone about 40,000KM when this happened. Kept getting a warning on my dashboard out of the blue, about the sensor-cable connection being defective. After a couple of days of confusion, took her down to the garage. Ends up it was the cable connection to the sensor just like the dashboard said. Turns out, moisture had seeped in and messed it all up, made my car's brain think somethin' was up when it wasn't. The mechanic had to take her apart and give her a good work over, replaced the dodgy cable, dried out the internals and sealed it all back up tight to prevent any water damage in the future. As for the seriousness of it, I'd say it's a bit of a double-sided coin. On one hand, it was just a cable and some water damage, not like the engine failed or anything. But on the flip side, if ignored, it could lead to a lot of false positives on the dashboard or worse, parts failing without any warning on the dashboard. All in all, an annoying issue to have but not the end of the world. Get it looked into though, the sooner the better. Good luck with your RX. We Lexus owners have got to stick together, eh?
