Hey there, cheers for the insights! Your experience with your Megane RS sounds pretty similar to what I'm facing with my Arkana. That dodgy cable connection you mentioned seems like a possible culprit for my cruise control problem too! Just out of curiosity, do you remember how much you had to shell out for the whole fix? And has anything else cropped up related to this since then? Thanks in advance!
Hey, since the mechanic sorted out my problem, the cruise control has been smooth sailing, absolutely no issues at all. As for the cost, it set me back about 95€, which was for diagnosing the problem and then fixing the defective cable connection. It might seem a bit steep, but trust me, it's worth every penny. No annoying cruise control issues to worry about while hitting the highway. Definitely, money well spent, I'd say. Hope this answers your queries. Good luck with your Arkana!
Hello again, that's reassuring to hear! Your experience sure helps me understand the potential problem and the likely solution. €95 does seem a bit pricey, but as you said, if it resolves the issue with the cruise control, I'm all for it. Don't fancy more issues while I'm out and about on the road. Thanks a heap for sharing your insights and giving me peace of mind. Will get my Arkana checked out first thing tomorrow. Fingers crossed, my mechanic roots out the issue without much ado. Cheers!
Hey, faced a similar issue with my 2017 Renault Megane RS not too long ago. Turned out, it was a dodgy cable connection. The guys at the workshop ran a top-to-bottom check, and isolated the issue to a defective cable linking my engine module to the cruise control unit. These modules, especially in Renault models, operate through a network of interconnected cables and even a small fault could cause some serious troubles. Mine needed a complete replacement and hasn't given me any problems since. Do consider getting your Arkana checked properly. Hope this helps!
