Hey! Thanks for your insight! It's good to know that such problems are not terminal for our cars and that a similar issue got resolved smoothly. It's like seeing a light at the end of a long tunnel. If you don't mind me asking though, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the fix? Also, has the issue resurfaced or was it completely solved? Just trying to set my expectations here. Appreciate the help!
Hey! Ah, right, the costs, I almost forgot. So, for the replacement and reconnection of the faulty cable to the sensor, it set me back around €155. And guess what? After seeing the mechanic, the cruise control issue was completely sorted. Other than a couple of typical car issues, that little devil hasn't given me any more trouble since then with the cruise control. Goes to show that a problem well-sorted is a problem solved, eh? Keeping my fingers crossed that it goes just as smoothly for you!
you're a life saver! I feel much more prepared now knowing what I might expect. €155 is a fair hit, but to keep my Cadenza cruising happily, it's an amount I'm willing to part with. It's such a relief to hear that your fix was a one-time thing and didn't cause any more problems. You've given me a boost to take her in and get the problem sorted. Got my fingers crossed too hoping for the best. Thanks a ton for your help and advice! Cheers!
Hey there, Interesting issue you've got there. Something similar happened to me last year with my 2013 Kia Optima. Turns out the issue was due to a defective cable connected to one of the sensors, just as you suspected might be the case. Turned out, the cruise control was shutting down because the sensor was not able to do its job properly because of the faulty connection. From a layman's perspective, it's almost like it was blindfolded partially. Not something very serious like engine or transmission failure but depending on the situation it can get tricky. Had to take it to my local garage and the lads did a smashing job sorting it out. They basically replaced the faulty cable and reconnected the sensor. Don't worry, your baby should be sorted out once it is worked upon. Good luck!
