Cruise Control Issue in 2018 Nissan Tiida: Seeking Advice and Experiences

Cruise control without function

Fault stored

Hey folks, I'm driving a 2018 Nissan Tiida, gasoline engine, with around 51,002 KM on it. I've noticed my cruise control isn't working lately. The fault indicator is lit up too. Last time I took my ride to the mechanic it wasn't exactly a joy ride. So, before heading there this time, just wondering if any of you guys have come across a similar situation? What was your experience like with your mechanic? Any advice or heads up would be much appreciated! Cheers!

Hey, Had a pretty similar experience with my 2015 Nissan Versa, petrol engine, not too long ago. The culprit was a defective cable connection. It was my brake light switch cable to be precise. The thing is, this faulty brake light switch cable was triggering the cruise control disengage, because the system thought I was constantly braking. Sounds complex, huh? But once you understand the connection, it kinda just makes sense. It was a serious issue, had to sort it out pronto. Guess your Tiida might be facing the same, given the similar symptoms. Hope this helps you out before you hit up your garage. Good luck there! Cheers.

Hey, That's interesting! It does make sense when you put it that way. Reckon my Tiida's issue might as well be a lousy brake light switch cable. Just out of curiosity, how much of a dent did that put in your wallet? Also, has any other hitch cropped up since you got it fixed? Appreciate the help! Cheers.

Hey there, Ah, the wallet pain, an all too familiar story! Repairing the cable connection set me back about 95€. I know, a bit pricey, but trust me, totally worth it to have the cruise control working again. It brings back the joy in those long highway rides, y'know? Since I got it sorted, I've had no other issues with the car. It's been running as smooth as a fresh tub of butter! So don't worry, once you get this sorted, you're pretty much good to go. Take care! Cheers.

Hey, That's a relief to hear! And while it's never fun to part with hard-earned cash, safety and comfort on the road always come first, right? Especially when I'm planning a long trip. So, thinking it’s worth every cent. Fingers crossed, hope that sorts out all my car issues as it did for you. You've been a big help. Appreciate the advice. Thanks for the moral support too - believe me, I needed it! Cheers!
