Cruise control without function

Hi guys, I have a problem with my 2015 Skoda Octavia with a gasoline engine and a mileage of 150127 km. The cruise control function no longer works properly and I have an error in the memory, just a zero. I had a bad experience with the last mechanic and am now a bit worried. Have you ever had similar problems? How did it go with your mechanic? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey, I recently had a similar problem with my 2018 Skoda Superb. Similar case, the cruise control function was broken and the control unit also showed an error. After a visit to the garage, it turned out that the control unit was faulty. It is apparently a known problem with some Skoda models. The mechanic replaced the control unit and since then everything has been running smoothly again. So it's definitely not an isolated case and you're not alone with the problem. Fortunately, it wasn't anything serious and it didn't cause any further problems, but it was still annoying. Hopefully you'll get it resolved quickly! Greetings

Hey, that reassures me a little. It's nice to know that my Octavia isn't the only Skoda with cruise control that's a bitch. Do you remember how much you paid for the repair? And have you had any other problems since then? Thank you and best regards!

Hey, I'm glad I could help you a bit! In my case, it cost around 1000 euros to replace the control unit. Not exactly a bargain, but since then the cruise control has worked properly without any further problems. So it was worth the money after all, I would say. In any case, no more faults since the workshop visit. Hopefully you'll get it fixed quickly and without too much drama on your Octavia! Good luck and best wishes!

Hey, thanks for the quick reply and the info! Of course, 1000 euros is a lot of money, but if it helps, it's probably worth it. But it's good to know that you had peace of mind afterwards. I think I'll just go and see another mechanic and hope that it goes better this time. It didn't work out so well with the last one... Wish you continued good luck with your Superb and that you are spared any further problems! See you then and best regards!
