Cruise Control Dysfunction in 2014 Fiat Doblo: Seeking Firsthand Repair Advice

Cruise control without function

Fault stored

Hey! I'm having trouble with the Cruise Control on my 2014 Gas-fuelled Fiat Doblo that has clocked about 155k km. It's plain out of action and apparently there's a fault stored in the memory. Had a less than stellar experience with my mechanic last time and the thought of going back gives me the jitters. Has anyone faced a similar issue and how it was fixed at your local garage? I'm really looking for firsthand advice here. Thanks in advance!

Hey! Sounds super similar to an issue I had with my 2011 Fiat Punto. My ride also hit a snag with the Cruise Control being out of order and a fault kept popping up in the memory. It turned out that it was a defective cable connection. Nasty one too - imagine, my sweet ride behaving like a stubborn mule on the open road! But don't sweat too much about it. I popped down to my local garage (who are real wizards with cars, I tell ya). They had to check the entire control system connection, hunting for this dodgy cable. Once they found it, they replaced it and ran a few tests to make sure everything was hunky-dory again. Might sound like a grueling hassle, but trust me, it was really just a routine job for the mechanic, no big fuss. Just make sure to find a decent garage that knows what they're up to, and not the kind that rips you off, you know? Hope this helps, and fingers crossed for your Doblo!

Hey there! Oh wow, your situation does sound eerily similar to mine. So you're telling me this pesky problem was all down to a faulty cable connection? Interesting, I wouldn't have thought something seemingly so trivial could cause such a headache. But then again, cars eh? Full of surprises. Do you happen to remember roughly how much moolah you had to part ways with for the repair? I have my fingers crossed it wasn't a small fortune. And another thing, ever since they fixed it, did another issue pop up or has your Punto been behaving itself? I'm just thinking if there's something else I should be mindful of. Thanks a lot for your advice! It's a huge relief to hear from someone who's managed to tackle this head on. You're a star!

Hey. Oh you bet, cars can indeed be unpredictable fellas! And yeah, it was just a dodgy cable connection causing all the fuss. But once it was replaced, bam! Cruise control was back in action. On the money front, it wasn't that dreadful. The cost for replacing the defective cable set me back by 95 Euro. Not a small change, but considering the peace of mind it got me, I'd say it was worth it. And as for any other issues cropping up post the fix, luckily my Punto's been behaving like a well-tuned orchestra. Smooth as silk. All I'd say is find a decent garage and chances are your Doblo shouldn’t give you any more grief. Glad to help! Keep me posted about your beloved Fiat. Remember, who dares, wins! Or in our case, gets cruise control back to work, ha! Cheers!

Hey! 95 Euro, huh? That doesn't sound half bad, considering I was envisioning a much steeper bill. Your words, my have given me some newfound confidence. And fantastic to hear the fix has been holding up well with no other issues. You're right about tracking down a proper garage, I think I'll be giving my old one a miss this time. In hindsight, they seemed too keen on emptying my wallet than actually fixing the problem. I'll definitely keep you posted on the situation. Thanks for all the fantastic advice and for lending an ear, really appreciate it! Catch you later and fingers crossed my Doblo gets its groove back. Take care!
