Thanks for sharing your experience! That's really helpful to know about the wiring harness issue. Would you mind telling me how much you ended up paying for the repair? Also, just curious, has everything been working smoothly since then? My Elysion's been acting up quite a bit lately, so I'm trying to figure out if I might be dealing with other related issues too.
Hey again! Good news, since I got the cruise control fixed on my Legend, it's been working perfectly! The mechanic found exactly what I suspected, a damaged cable connection to the sensor. The total bill came to 155€ for parts and labor, which I thought was pretty reasonable considering how annoying the problem was. The repair only took about 2 hours, and honestly, it was worth every penny. The cruise control has been working like a charm ever since, no problems whatsoever. It's such a relief to have it working properly again, especially on longer drives. If your Elysion is having other issues, I'd definitely recommend getting them checked out sooner rather than later. These kinds of electrical problems can sometimes be related, and it's usually cheaper to fix them before they get worse. My mechanic did a great job with my Legend, so I'm really glad I didn't put off getting it fixed! Let me know how it goes with yours, I'm curious to hear if it turns out to be the same issue!
Just wanted to update you all, I finally got my Elysion fixed! After putting it off for a few days, I took it to a mechanic last week. You were spot on about the wiring harness! The technician found some worn-out cables that were causing the cruise control to malfunction. The repair cost me about 180€, a bit more than yours, but still not too bad. The whole thing took around 3 hours because they had to do some extra diagnostic tests, but the service was excellent. They even showed me the damaged parts and explained everything clearly. The cruise control's working perfectly now, and they also spotted and fixed a loose connection in the steering wheel controls while they were at it. Really appreciate everyone's help here, saved me from stressing too much about it. Sometimes it just takes a good recommendation to find the right solution. Thanks again for sharing your experiences!
Hey there! I actually had a similar issue with my 2013 Honda Legend last year. Like yours, the cruise control suddenly stopped working. The problem turned out to be a faulty cable connection between the cruise control sensor and the main control unit. The wire insulation had worn out over time, causing intermittent connection issues. It wasn't a major repair, the mechanic just had to replace the wiring harness and recalibrate the system. This is a relatively common issue in these models once they hit higher mileage. Mine happened around 130k km. I'd suggest checking the connections first before assuming it's a sensor failure or something more serious. I got it fixed at my regular garage, and they had it sorted in about 2 hours. Not a complex job for someone who knows what they're doing, but definitely needs proper diagnostic equipment to pinpoint the exact issue. Hope this helps!
