Hey there, Thanks for the heads up on your Duster. Seems we're sailing in the same boat. That water valve plug issue might indeed be the culprit here too. Fingers crossed it's not as serious though. Mechanic horrors are a real nightmare, aren't they? Not to pry too much but do you recollect, ballpark, how much it set you back to get the water valve and cable fixed? And has anything else cropped up since? Cheers for the help!
Hey! No worries, happy to share that! All in all, fixing the whole cable connection and replacing the water valve plug ran up to about 155€. Not exactly pocket change, but considering the issues, it was worth it. And to answer your other question, since I took it to the mechanic, she's been running as good as new. The cooling circuit water valve issue got completely sorted out, no more heating/cooling problems. The mirror defrosting too, which was a relief let me tell you! Hope this helps. Best of luck with your Sandero and hopefully it doesn't turn out to be as big a headache for you!
Cheers for all the details! 155€ doesn't sound too bad, considering it could've been a much bigger disaster. Good to hear everything's sorted with your Duster now, gives me hope for my Sandero. And boy, I can imagine the relief of finally having a functional mirror defrost! Let's see how it turns out. Fingers crossed I can get this sorted without causing too much of a dent in my wallet. Can't thank you enough for sharing your experience. Hopefully, I'll be back on the road without any problems soon. Take care!
Hey! A similar thing happened to my 2015 Dacia Duster not long ago. The heating/cooling system was out of whack and the mirror also refused to defrost. Just like yours, mine was showing signs of a possible defective cooling circuit water valve, among other things. So, I took it to the garage and they ran some tests. Turns out it was indeed the cooling circuit water valve, but also an issue with the cable connection. The water valve plug wasn't working as expected. Must say the mechanic did a wonderful job of sorting it all out. The cable needed some tinkering and fixing while the water valve plug was outright replaced. Now, I don't want to scare you or anything, but the issue was pretty serious. Can't really say what might be happening with your Sandero, but based on my run-in with the Duster's issues, it's worth having yours inspected just to be on the safe side. Good luck hope you sort it out quick!
