Hey, thanks for the quick reply and your advice. It reassures me that I'm not the only one with a problem like this. Do you remember how much it cost you to replace the glow plug? And has anything else come up since then that could be related to the problem?

Hey, no problem! I remember paying around €560.00 to replace my glow plug. It was a bit expensive, but it solved the problem due to wear and tear. Since the mechanic visit, my car has been running perfectly again and I haven't noticed any other problems that could be related to it. It was definitely the right decision to have the replacement done. Hope this helps you!

Wow, that's a bit pricey, but if it helps, I'll have it done. Thanks for sharing your experience with me. I will find a good mechanic and get it checked out. Hopefully everything will run flawlessly after the repair. Thanks again and drive safe!

The error code for Cylinder 4 Glow Plug Control Circuit usually indicates a problem with the glow plug itself or the wiring to it. Start by inspecting the glow plug and its connection. If the glow plug is faulty, it will need to be replaced. If the wiring is damaged, it will need to be repaired. If you're not comfortable doing this yourself, I recommend taking your car to a professional mechanic.

You can certainly just replace the faulty glow plug. However, if the others are old or showing signs of wear, it might be a good idea to replace them all at once to prevent future issues.

Ordered glow plugs and my colleague, the master mechanic, will then replace them. 👌👍 All four right away so that the next one doesn't give up the ghost next month!!!

A garage told me that changing the glow plugs for 300-400€ is justified? Thank God I have a colleague who is a master mechanic, so I can do a lot myself.

Hey, I actually had a similar problem with my diesel Opel Vectra from 2003. My glow plug was also defective and I had similar symptoms to yours, such as the constantly illuminated preheating light and problems with cold starts. As I know a lot about cars, I took the risk of fixing the problem myself. It turned out that the glow plug could no longer do its job due to wear and tear. In my case, I had to replace the faulty glow plug. And yes, it is a serious problem because it affects the performance of the engine. So, my advice is to find a trustworthy mechanic as soon as possible and get the glow plug(s) checked/replaced. Hopefully my experience will help you. Good luck with it!
