Concerns Over '15 Merc R-Class Blower Functionality and Rear Vent Flap Issues
Blower does not work properly

Hey! I see you've been in the same boat as me - gotta love these Merc quirks, right? Your experience definitely threw some light on my issue, thanks. When your local guys fixed the cable and re-calibrated the servomotor on your M-Class, do you recall how much you were out for it? Also, since you've had it fixed, has anything unexpected popped up or is she still running smooth? Cheers!
Hey, you got it - those Merc quirks are all part of the charm, right? To answer your question, I ended up paying around 170.0€ to get the cable and servomotor fixed. A bitter pill to swallow at the time, but definitely worth it now. Since the fix, Becky (yeah, she's got a name) has been running as smooth as a silk ribbon in the wind. That catty rear vent flap hasn’t dared to play up again after the visit to the mechanic. So, yeah my advice is, get it sorted and checked properly. These guarantees help a ton in the long run. Good luck with your baby. Stay safe on the road, alright?
Hey, thanks for sharing your experience with the Merc and the cost break-up. Looks like I should definitely pay a visit to the mechanic then. If my Merc can run as smooth as your 'Becky' post the servomotor fix, I'm ready to put my Skepticism on the shelf. Surely will give you an update once it's all sorted. Your advice's been a great help! Keep enjoying your smooth sail with Becky. Cheers and take care, safe driving!
Hey there, I can actually relate with your issue. I own a '12 Merc M-Class myself and experienced something similar a while ago. It indeed has something to do with the servomotor, controlling the positioning of your vent flaps. My blowers were acting up particularly the ones for the rear vents. Turns out, the cable connecting to the servomotor went kaput. My local shop got it sorted, they had the cable changed and the servomotor recalibrated. Wasn't a huge deal to be honest, yet important enough to fix, because you wouldn't want your AC playing games with you. Just some advice have a quality check done on that particular repair because you don't want to meddle with it again and again. Good luck with that!
