Hey, thanks for the reply and your help. It really sounds like we have similar problems. Do you happen to remember how much it cost you to replace the transmission control unit? And has your C5 shown any other quirks since then or has everything gone smoothly? Greetings back!

Hey, you're welcome! As far as the cost of replacing the transmission control unit is concerned, I left around €1000 at the garage. It was quite a lot of money, but since then my C5 has been running like a champ again, no more problems. And you were right with your assumption about the transmission oil pressure. In my case, it was also faulty. But don't worry, since my visit to the mechanic it's all been fixed and I haven't experienced any more problems since. So, all in all, I'd say it was worth the investment. Hopefully that answers your questions! Greetings back!

Hello, thank you for the detailed reply! It's reassuring to hear that your C5 has been running well since the transmission control unit was replaced. Also, the price seems justified if it solves the problem for good. I guess I'll have to find a mechanic and hope he can fix the fault on my C6 just as competently. Thanks again for your support and sharing your experience. It really is a great help. Best regards!

Hey, I had similar symptoms with my 2014 Citroen C5. The gears were going crazy and there were also grinding and whining noises. The mechanic then diagnosed a transmission control unit fault. It was quite a serious problem as the car became almost unusable. They had to completely replace the transmission control unit to fix the problem. So, yes, you could be right in your guess, it could very well be that a faulty transmission control unit is the problem. I hope this helps you. Best regards!
