Hey, thanks so much for sharing your experience! That does sound really similar to what I'm dealing with. I'm thinking I might need to bite the bullet and head to the dealer too, since my regular guy seems stumped. Would you mind sharing what the damage was to your wallet for the whole fix? Also, curious if you've had any other problems with the system since then?
Hey again! Just wanted to follow up, yeah, after seeing the dealer, it turned out to be exactly what I suspected. The rollover sensor malfunction was definitely causing all those warning lights and top issues. They found a defective fuse in the safety system, just like in my case. It was a pretty straightforward fix, only set me back 52.50€, which honestly wasn't as bad as I was expecting! The best part? I haven't had a single problem since then. Everything's working perfectly, no more warning lights, no electrical gremlins, nothing. Honestly, sometimes going to the dealer is worth it, especially for these tricky electrical issues. They've got all the right diagnostic tools and know these cars inside out. Sounds like you're dealing with the same thing I did, so hopefully this gives you a good idea of what to expect! Let me know if you need any other info!
Thanks a lot for all the info! I actually just got back from the dealer today, and am I glad I took your advice! The whole experience was way better than my last mechanic visit. The problem was exactly what you described, a faulty fuse in the safety system that was messing with everything. The mechanic was super professional and knew exactly what to look for. Only took them about 4 hours to fix everything, and the bill came to around 60€, just a bit more than what you paid. The convertible top is working smoothly again, and those annoying warning lights are finally gone! Feels good to have everything back to normal. Really appreciate you sharing your experience, saved me from going through more headaches with my regular mechanic. Think I've found my new go-to place for any future car troubles. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!
Hey there, I had a similar issue with my 2008 Mitsubishi Colt last spring. The warning lights came on suddenly, and the electrical system started acting weird. Turned out to be a blown fuse in the safety system circuit that was affecting multiple components, including the airbag sensor. Got it checked at my local Mitsubishi dealer after my regular mechanic couldn't pinpoint the issue. The fuse replacement itself wasn't a big deal, but they had to reset the entire safety system and recalibrate the sensors. The whole thing took about half a day to fix. It's worth getting it checked soon since it's affecting your safety systems. Mine started with just the airbag light, but it quickly affected other electrical components. The dealer told me it could've led to more serious issues if left unchecked. Hope this helps!
