Hi, I had exactly the same problem with my C8 diesel at the end of last year. The engine suddenly stopped starting and the check engine light came on. The technician repaired a few things and it ran better again. Can you still remember the costs you had back then? And have there been any further problems since then or has everything been fine again? Hope your Citroen runs smoothly again soon!

Hi, of course I still remember. After the visit to the mechanic, the problem with the pressure fluctuation on the cylinder was gone. He looked at the thing and was able to rectify the subsequent faults from other fault memory entries. And the best thing is that he didn't charge a cent for it! Zero euros, quite simply! Since then, my C5 has been purring like a kitten again, so no more problems since the repair. So don't worry, it can only get better. I'll keep my fingers crossed that your C8 will be running again soon!

Thanks, guys! Your experiences have really helped me. And thanks for the sweet description, hearing my car purr sounds like a dream! It's reassuring to hear that your cars are running well after the repair, I hope the best for my C8 too. I will get to the mechanic as soon as possible - hopefully they will have as good solutions as yours. And of course I hope my mechanic bill is as low as yours! I'll let you know how it goes.

Moin moin, I drive a 2005 Citroen C5 and had something similar last year. It was a mouse-milking experience, my car wouldn't start either and started to tick. The mechanic said it was due to subsequent faults from other fault memory entries. They had to do a lot of work on the wiring and sensors to rectify all the faults. It wasn't a walk in the park, but once it was done, the car ran like clockwork again. Sure, it's rare, but when it happens, you just have to deal with it. So, don't panic, get it to the mech and get it checked out. All the best, buddy!
