Thanks for your answer! Yes, that sounds really similar to my problem. It's reassuring to know that someone else has been through the same thing. I probably won't be able to avoid sending my car to the garage. By any chance, do you have any idea what the repair cost you at the time? And did you have any further problems with your car after that or has everything run smoothly since then? Many thanks in advance for your help!

Hello again, yes, I remember the cost. It cost me €345 to repair the internal mechanics of the throttle valve. That was quite a lot of money, but well, that's car life, isn't it? But the good thing is that since the throttle potentiometer fault has been fixed, the car runs much smoother and better. Sure, it was a big expense, but in hindsight it was worth the money to avoid any more headaches. I haven't had any further problems with my car since the repair, it's running like a kitten again now. So, yes, I think it was definitely worth it. Hopefully your car won't have any more problems after the repair. Good luck with your car and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for the helpful information! I guess the high cost is unavoidable, but if it helps my car run right again, then it's worth it. I definitely feel more prepared to visit the mechanic and understand what's at stake now. It's reassuring to hear that your car is running well since the repair. It gives me hope that the damage to my car can also be repaired and it will run like normal afterwards. I will definitely keep you posted and let you know how my car gets on. Thanks again for your help and advice!

Hey, it sounds like you have a similar problem to the one I had with my 2007 Citroën C3 some time ago. It also felt like the engine was twitching and performance was suffering noticeably. In my case, the internal mechanics of the throttle valve were defective. After much avoidance, I finally had to take my car to the garage and have the mechanic do it. It was quite a challenge to diagnose the problem because the symptoms were very similar to a throttle valve potentiometer fault. But thanks to the mechanic's technical experience, the faulty mechanics were identified and replaced. It was already a serious problem because the car would definitely lose performance without repair, and the risks of continuing to drive were too great. So my recommendation, don't look at it for too long and take it to the garage. With so many kilometers and the age, it wouldn't be a surprise if there's more in the engine than just the throttle that needs a service. Please keep us up to date and good luck with the car!
