Check Engine light and warning light on Skoda Octavia 2016: Possible error when unlocking the fuel filler flap
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Skoda Octavia owner is experiencing issues with the Check Engine light and a warning light on the speedometer, potentially linked to an error with the fuel filler flap unlocking. A similar case with a 2013 Skoda Superb revealed a faulty fuel filler flap release, which was resolved by replacing the defective cable connection or plug on the servomotor. The suggested solution is to have the vehicle checked promptly to prevent further complications.

Hi, thanks for your quick reply. Interesting to hear that you had similar problems. Do you remember approximately how much the repair cost you? And has a similar problem arisen again since then or has everything gone smoothly since then? Many thanks and best regards!

Hello, the repair cost me €155.0 as apparently the cable connection or the plug on the servomotor was defective. Not exactly cheap, but since then everything has been running smoothly again and I've had no more problems in this direction - the fuel filler flap unlocking works perfectly. So better get it checked quickly so you don't start having more problems. Good luck and let us know how it goes! Bye!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2013 Skoda Superb. The warning lights were the first signs. It turned out that it was actually the fuel filler flap release that was faulty and needed replacing, which quite surprised my mechanic. It was serious, but not a major problem, and once fixed, all was well again. I would advise you to get it checked as soon as possible. Hope this helps! Regards!
