Check engine light and hissing sound during acceleration

My 2023 Mini Cooper is showing a check engine light and reduced engine power. There's also a whistling and loud hissing sound during acceleration. The error memory indicates a charge air temperature sensor fault, possibly a defective cable or plug. Any ideas?

I encountered a similar issue with my Mini Cooper. The symptoms align with what I experienced. I would suggest inspecting the charge air temperature sensor itself and its wiring harness for any visible damage or loose connections. Specifically, examine the plug connection for corrosion or bent pins. The sensor is part of the air intake system, so a faulty automotive sensor there can impact engine performance.

When you say 'similar issue', was it exactly the charge air temperature sensor, or something else related to the air sensor? Where exactly is that temperature gauge located?

Yes, the error pointed directly to the charge sensor. The hissing sound does reinforce that. The sensor is located on the intake manifold, part of the air intake. It is best to go to the workshop. They can test the sensor with suitable diagnostic tools.

Thank you for your assistance. The workshop confirmed the charge air temperature sensor cable was faulty. The repair cost 95€.
