Hey there, your story sounds eerily similar to mine. Makes me hopeful it might indeed just be something like a wonky cable messing around and not some full-blown system failure. I'm definitely going to give that reliable garage approach a shot. Do you remember rough around how much you had to shell out for the cable fix? From your story, sounds like some pretty painstaking work was involved. And since you've had it fixed, have you come across any further issues or was it all smooth sailing from there on out? Thanks for sharing your experience! Really helps to put things in perspective.
Hey, glad to hear my story gave you a little bit of comfort. The dosh I parted with to get the defective cable issue sorted was about 155€. It did involve some detailed work alright, but in the grand scheme of things, it’s a small price to pay for peace of mind, don’t you think? And you know what? Since the garage guys sorted out the pesky cable business, it's been nothing but smooth drives down Easy Street, my! The central locking problem hasn't reared its ugly head again - the lock's been behaving like a charm, responding every time no matter what. So, purely from my experience, I'd say it's well worth letting the professionals give it a once over. It definitely turned my luck around, perhaps it will for you too. Keep your chin up and fingers crossed!
Thanks for coming back with that detailed response. Really appreciate you taking the time to break down the cost and the work involved. 155€ doesn't seem too bad for getting rid of this annoyance and enjoying some peace of mind. I mean, sure, I'd rather not have to spend it but if it gets my ride back working like normal, it's money well spent. So glad to know you've not had any repeat issues. Really makes me optimistic about getting my Lexus sorted. I think it's about time I put my faith in a professional again, really hopeful for a similar turnaround. Appreciate the good vibes! Fingers crossed indeed! Catch you later, and thanks again.
Hey there, totally feel ya. I had a pretty similar headache with my 2002 Lexus ES. Not exactly the same, but close enough, yeah? Turns out, the issue was with a defective cable connection. It took some finding for sure, but in the end, it wasn't some catastrophic deal, just a pain in the backside. Namely, the thing was my car's central locking was playing up, sorta like your hide-and-seek fob situation. So, after a few bouts of trying to sort it myself and failing, I hauled it to the garage. The there were good, spotted that the trouble was with one of the cables in the control unit. Basically, the connection was not solid anymore. They had to pull the thing apart, replace the damaged cable, and put it all back together. Quite a bit of work, but hey, after they did it, the central locking was back in the game and no more hide-and-seek for me. Takeaway from my story? It's not necessarily something majorly wrong with your car it could just be a dodgy cable. Bring it to a reliable garage and let them have a look. Maybe you'll luck out like I did! Be cool, and good luck with it, yeah?
