Central Lock Failure on T-Roc Leaves Owner Stranded

Looking for advice about my central locking system that suddenly stopped working. None of the doors will lock or unlock using the key fob or interior switches. My remote locking completely fails and the security system shows an error code. The car is a 2022 T-Roc with a gas engine and 110024km. Has anyone experienced similar issues with their locking mechanism? Not too keen on going back to my regular mechanic after a recent bad experience, so recommendations for fixing this would be greatly appreciated.

Had the same issue on a 2019 T-Cross. The central locking system failure was linked to a faulty connection in the main door harness. The keyless entry system stopped responding completely, and the car alarm would trigger out of nowhere. The root cause was corrosion in the driver door wiring connector, which disrupted signals to the central locking control module. After checking the fuse box first, the diagnostic revealed multiple fault codes related to the security system communication. The fix required removing the door panel, replacing the damaged wiring connector, and reprogramming the central control unit. While not a complex repair, it needed specialized diagnostic equipment to properly reset the security system. This was definitely not a DIY job as it involved critical safety components. Worth getting checked soon, as faulty door locks can lead to bigger security issues. The symptoms match a common fault pattern with VAG vehicles from this generation. A certified shop should be able to diagnose this with their diagnostic tools, they will need to check both the physical connections and the control module programming.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Your case sounds exactly like what I am dealing with on my T-Roc. The central locking issues and error codes match perfectly. Good to know about the wiring connection being the culprit. Quick question, do you remember roughly how much the repair cost in the end? Also, has the locking mechanism worked flawlessly since the fix, or have you noticed any other quirks with the remote locking or security system?

Since getting my T-Cross repaired at the shop, the central locking system has worked perfectly. The cost came to 95€ for fixing a bad cable connection near the door control module. The security system and door locks now function exactly as they should, with no recurring issues or error codes. The remote locking works smoothly again, and I have not experienced any problems with the car alarm or keyless entry features. Looking back, it was definitely worth having a professional diagnose and repair the faulty wiring rather than attempting a DIY fix on such a critical security component. The shop found the issue quickly with their diagnostic equipment, and the repair has proven to be a permanent solution. For what you described, it sounds like your T-Roc likely has the same underlying problem with the wiring connection that mine had.

Thanks everyone for the helpful suggestions. I took my T-Roc to a certified shop yesterday after hearing about these similar experiences. The mechanic found corroded wiring in the driver door, just like you mentioned. The diagnostic scan showed matching fault codes related to the central locking system. The repair took about 2 hours and cost 120€ total, including parts and labor. They replaced the damaged wiring connector and reprogrammed the security system. The keyless entry and all door locks are now working perfectly again. Really glad I got this sorted quickly before it could cause bigger issues. The new shop was much more professional than my previous mechanic. They explained everything clearly and fixed the problem on the first try. The fuse box and locking mechanism were thoroughly checked to ensure no other components were affected. Money well spent for peace of mind knowing the security system is functioning properly again.
