Blower does not work properly

Thanks for the input! My ride's at 119015 KM and was just serviced last month. Yeah, the fan's super weird, it only works on the highest setting, and even then it's pretty weak. No warning lights on the dash, but the air barely gets cold even when it's cranked all the way up. Definitely annoying in this weather! Might have to check out a specialist like you did. Did your mechanic mention anything about checking the blower motor resistor? Just wondering if that could be my issue before dropping big money on a whole new control unit.
Hey again! Yeah, after reading about your symptoms, especially the fan only working on high, it does sound a bit different from what I dealt with on my Boxster. Actually, my mechanic did check the blower motor resistor when I had my issues! That's a really good point you brought up. In my case, the fan was working on all speeds but just inconsistently, which led to the control unit diagnosis. But with yours only working on high, that's actually a classic symptom of a bad blower resistor. Wish I'd mentioned that in my first reply! I'd definitely get that resistor checked first, it's way cheaper than replacing the whole control unit like I had to. My with a 911 had the exact same symptoms as you're describing, and it turned out to be just the resistor. Cost him around 200 Euro for parts and labor, way better than my 880 euro repair! Keep us posted on what you find out. I'm really curious if it turns out to be the resistor. These Porsches can be tricky sometimes, but at least we can learn from each other's experiences!
Thanks so much for the detailed follow-up! That's super helpful to hear about your 's 911 having the same symptoms. You've definitely convinced me to check out the blower resistor first, way better to start with the cheaper fix before jumping into anything major. I'll give my local Porsche specialist a call tomorrow and see what they say about checking the resistor. Really appreciate you sharing your experience and saving me from possibly spending way more than needed! I'll update the thread once I get it sorted out. Thanks again for taking the time to help out a fellow Porsche owner!
Hey there! I had a somewhat similar issue with my 2013 Porsche Boxster (also had a look at the 911 before buying). I've got some experience working on cars, but I usually leave the complex stuff to the pros. Last summer, my climate control unit went completely nuts, inconsistent cooling, fan issues, the whole deal. Took it to my trusted Porsche specialist (been going there for 3 years). They diagnosed a faulty climate control unit and had to replace it entirely. Set me back about 880 Euro, but it's been working perfectly since. Before you proceed, could you share: Any warning lights on the dash? Does the fan work at all or just at certain speeds? Are you getting any cold air, or is it just weak? Might help pinpoint if you're dealing with the same issue I had.
