Thanks for sharing your experience! I've been noticing these symptoms for about 2 weeks now. The battery warning light hasn't come on yet, but the flickering is getting more frequent. My mileage is currently at 79017 KM, and the last service was done about 4 months ago. Good to know about your Panamera fix, that price doesn't sound too bad actually. Did they mention anything about how the hybrid system might affect the auxiliary battery life? 290€ sounds like a reasonable investment if it sorts out the issue completely.
Hey again! Thanks for the follow-up info. Yeah, that mileage is actually pretty similar to what mine was when I had the issue (around 82,000 km). When I spoke with my mechanic about the hybrid system's impact, he explained something interesting, apparently, in our Porsche hybrids, the auxiliary battery works harder than in conventional cars because it has to manage more electronic systems. Mine started showing these symptoms around the 3-year mark. In my case, the workshop also mentioned that the cold weather we had last month probably accelerated the battery's deterioration. Since your symptoms are similar but you haven't got the warning light yet, you might be catching it a bit earlier than I did. That's actually good! Just to add to my earlier experience, after they replaced my battery, they also did a full electrical system check (worth asking for this, by the way). The hybrid system was putting extra strain on the auxiliary battery because of some settings that needed adjustment. They tweaked those while they were at it, no extra charge. Quick tip from my experience: if you decide to get it replaced, make sure they use the original Porsche battery. I know it's a bit pricier, but it's worth it. The compatibility with the hybrid system is better, and you won't have to worry about any warranty issues. Let me know how it goes if you get it checked out!
Thanks so much for all the detailed info! That's really helpful, especially about the hybrid system putting extra strain on the battery. I'll definitely get it checked out this week and ask for that full electrical system check you mentioned. Good call on the original Porsche battery too, I'd rather pay a bit more now than deal with compatibility issues later. I actually just called my local Porsche workshop and managed to get an appointment for Thursday morning. Mentioned the symptoms and your experience with the Panamera, and they seemed to know exactly what I was talking about. I'll update the thread once I get it sorted out, might help others with similar issues down the line. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. It's always reassuring to hear from someone who's dealt with the same problem successfully!
Hey there! I had a very similar issue with my 2020 Panamera Hybrid (I also own a Macan). I have some experience working with cars, mainly basic maintenance stuff. The symptoms you're describing sound exactly like what I dealt with. My lights were doing the same dance, and the startup was getting weaker by the day. Took it to my trusted workshop last month, turned out it was indeed a defective battery. The fix was straightforward: they replaced the auxiliary battery, and it set me back about 290€. Car's been running perfectly since then. Before I share more specific details about my experience, could you tell me how long you've been noticing these symptoms, and have you checked if your battery warning light is on? Also, what's your mileage? This info would help me give you more relevant advice from my experience.
