Thanks for sharing your experience. I had similar engine hesitation and misfire issues with my 2015 Dodge. The symptoms match exactly what I went through, jerky acceleration and stalling. My mechanic also replaced the coil pack and spark plugs which solved the problem. Would you mind sharing what the total repair cost was in your case? Also curious if you experienced any related issues since the fix?

Just got back to update on the repair costs, my total bill came to 95€ for fixing the faulty ignition coil connection. The vehicle diagnostics confirmed a defective ignition coil was causing the engine hesitation and misfire issues. Since having the cable connection properly repaired, the engine runs perfectly smooth with zero stalling or misfires. No related problems have occurred in the months following the fix. The repair shop did a thorough check of the entire ignition system to ensure there were no other underlying issues. This repair ended up being much simpler and cheaper than initially expected, since only the connection needed work rather than replacing the whole coil pack. The spark plugs were still in good condition, so that helped keep costs down too. Good to hear your mechanic properly diagnosed and fixed the similar symptoms on your vehicle. These ignition system issues can be tricky to pinpoint but once fixed properly, they typically stay resolved.

Thanks for the input. I finally took my Caravan to a trusted mechanic last week after getting recommendations here. The vehicle diagnostics confirmed multiple misfires from a failing ignition coil, just as suspected. Total repair came to 385€ which included: New coil pack, Full set of spark plugs, Labor costs, System testing The check engine light is now off and the car runs perfectly, no more jerking or stalling issues. Acceleration is smooth again and idle is stable. What a relief to have it properly fixed. The mechanic showed me the old coil which had visible damage. He mentioned this is a common failure point around this mileage. Good to know for future reference. Really appreciate all the helpful responses that pointed me in the right direction for diagnosis.

Had the exact same symptoms on a 2013 Grand Caravan. The check engine light came on and the engine would stutter badly, especially when stopped at idle. Initially thought it was bad fuel, but the ignition system was the culprit. The problem turned out to be a failed ignition coil pack and worn spark plugs. The coil was creating weak sparks, causing incomplete combustion. This is quite common on these engines after 100000 KM. The repair involved: Replacing all ignition coils, Installing new spark plugs, Testing the entire ignition system, Clearing the check engine light codes It was a serious issue that needed immediate attention since bad ignition coils can damage the catalytic converter if left unchecked. The engine stalling was also a safety concern, especially in traffic. After the repair, the engine ran perfectly smooth again with no hesitation or stalling. These symptoms match your situation exactly, and given the mileage, it makes sense to suspect the ignition coils. Best to get it fixed soon, engine stalling will only get worse and could leave you stranded.
