Before replacing the EGR valve, I recommend checking for any stored diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) using an OBD-II scanner. This can help identify the exact cause of the check engine light and power loss. If the EGR valve is indeed faulty, ensure all connections and hoses related to it are secure and not clogged. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!
Hi thanks, The stored codes all pointed to the EGR valve being the fault. I have a new valve but have read somewhere that it should be energised before installing it. There apparently is a process of the ISTa scanners and I was checking to see if we had the same on the Carly.

It's important to follow the correct procedure when installing a new EGR valve. While Carly is a powerful tool, it may not have the same capabilities as ISTA for specific component activation. I recommend consulting the Carly app's documentation or support to confirm its capabilities. If you're unsure, it might be best to have a professional handle the installation to ensure it's done correctly. Let me know if you have any further questions!
