Thanks for the feedback. After getting my SRX inspected at last service (done at 21491 KM), it turns out the system fault was triggered by corrosion on the impact sensor connectors. One of the collision detection modules had moisture damage, causing the active hood warnings. The technician mentioned this is a known issue with the car safety system on these models. So far quotes range from 280€ to 450€ for the full repair. Might help others facing similar warnings to check their sensor connections first before replacing entire modules.

Thanks for the update on your SRX repair diagnosis. The corrosion issue on impact sensor connections matches exactly what I ultimately discovered on my CTS after further inspection. The moisture damage to collision detection modules is unfortunately a weak point in these models car electronics. Your repair quote range looks reasonable based on my experience. I ended up paying 350€ after they found additional corroded wiring near the hood latch sensor that needed replacement. The key is making sure they thoroughly clean and protect all the sensor connections during repair to prevent future moisture issues. The car safety system in these models uses an interconnected network of sensors, so corrosion in one area can trigger multiple warnings. Getting proper waterproofing during the repair is crucial. Make sure they check all the related impact sensor connectors while they have the system opened up. Would be interested to hear how the repair goes and if it fully resolves the active hood warnings. These sensor issues can be tricky, but proper diagnosis usually leads to a complete fix.

Thanks for all the helpful information. Just had the repair completed yesterday, total cost came to 320€, right in the expected range. The shop thoroughly cleaned and sealed all the impact sensor connections and replaced the corroded collision detection module. They also applied a protective coating around the hood latch area to prevent future moisture issues. The car safety warnings cleared immediately after the repair and haven't returned. The active hood system is now functioning normally according to their diagnostic check. For anyone else dealing with similar issues, requesting a complete inspection of all sensor connections definitely saved me from potentially larger problems down the road. Good to know these problems are fixable without replacing the entire system. The car electronics in these models seem sensitive to moisture, but proper maintenance and waterproofing can prevent recurring issues.

A few years back I had a comparable issue with my 2009 Cadillac CTS, which shares many car electronics components with the SRX. With some experience working on these models, I can share my insights. The crash detection system on my CTS showed similar symptoms, multiple warnings and triggered actuators. The root cause was a faulty acceleration sensor that interfered with the collision detection systems. After diagnosis, the repair involved replacing the sensor unit and resetting the system, costing 315€ total. The problem needs proper attention since these sensors are crucial for pedestrian safety systems. While driving with a faulty system is technically possible, it means the active safety features arent functioning correctly. To provide more specific guidance about your SRX: What exact error codes are you seeing? Has the car been in any minor impacts recently? Are there any other warning lights active? Does the issue appear consistently or intermittently? Getting these details would help determine if your issue matches what I experienced. The car sensor setup is similar between models, but diagnosing the exact fault point is important for an accurate fix.
