Buick Velite Call Audio Dead Despite Active Connection

Thanks for the detailed response. Just had my last service at 114801 KM and the technician didnt flag any audio input issues. Tried the power cycle and firmware update suggestions with no success. The Bluetooth issue remains, perfect music streaming but zero microphone function during calls. The error code P0A7F keeps appearing after each restart. Think I will need to bite the bullet and get the module replaced based on your experience. Before booking the repair, will try disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes as a last resort to fully reset the volume control and wireless connection systems.

Thanks for the update. That error code P0A7F on your Buick Velite actually points to a potential voltage issue that can affect the infotainment system. When I had this problem, disconnecting the battery helped temporarily but the speech recognition and calling features would fail again within days. The ambient noise cancellation and volume control systems remained functional in my case too, which made diagnosis tricky. Like you, I went through all the basic troubleshooting first, firmware updates, power cycles, and even a full system reset. After seeing the same error code repeatedly, the module replacement was unavoidable. The audio system simply wouldnt recognize any microphone input despite the wireless connection showing as active. One quick test you can try, check if the hands-free microphone works with the onboard voice commands. If those fail too, its almost certainly the module rather than just a Bluetooth issue. In my experience, when the infotainment module starts failing, all speech-based features stop working while music playback remains unaffected. Given you have the same symptoms and error code I encountered, Id skip further troubleshooting attempts and proceed with the module replacement to restore full functionality.

Thanks everyone for the input. Just completed the final test with voice commands as suggested and confirmed they arent working either. The microphone repair is definitely needed since all voice recognition features are dead, not just phone calls. Booked the infotainment module replacement for next week. The audio input issues and error codes match exactly what others experienced. While the ambient noise cancellation and volume control features still work fine with music, anything requiring the microphone is completely non-functional despite showing an active wireless connection. Will update the forum once the repair is complete to confirm if this resolves all the calling and voice command problems.

Similar issues occurred with my 2019 Buick Envision EV. As someone with moderate experience working on cars but limited knowledge of audio systems, I faced almost identical Bluetooth issues. After multiple troubleshooting attempts like resetting the infotainment system and re-pairing devices, the voice recognition and call functions remained non-functional while music streaming worked perfectly. The wireless connection showed connected but the microphone was completely dead during calls. The workshop diagnosed a defective infotainment control module affecting the hands-free system. They found the microphone circuit had failed internally, requiring a complete module replacement. The sound quality for media playback was unaffected because it uses separate circuits. The repair involved: Full diagnostic testing, Infotainment module replacement, System reprogramming, Testing all audio functions Total cost was 815 Euro including parts and labor. After replacement, all calling features worked perfectly again. To help diagnose your specific case: What firmware version is your infotainment running? Have you checked for any system updates? Does the issue persist after a complete power cycle? Are there any visible error codes stored?
