Brake light problems with 2011 Peugeot 407: Experience and advice wanted

Brake light not working

Hey guys, I recently had a really stupid incident at my mechanic and I'm a bit worried about my 2011 Peugeot 407 (gasoline, 155443 KM run). The problem is that my brake lights are not working and I fear it might be due to the "brake light implausible" signal. Have any of you ever had a similar problem and what was your experience with your mechanic? In short, I need your advice. Many thanks in advance!

Hey mate, I had exactly the same problem with my 2014 Peugeot 508. You don't need to worry too much, it's quite a common problem with the footwell module. Last time at the garage they only had to replace the module and then everything worked perfectly again. The only difficulty is actually identifying at first glance whether the problem is actually with the footwell module. It's best to have it checked again thoroughly. Hope this helps you!

Hey, thanks for the quick reply and the helpful information! Do you happen to remember how much it cost you to change the module? And have you had any other problems with your Peugeot since then? Please let me know how it went for you. It's really important to me to be prepared for anything. Thanks again!

Hey, sure, no problem! It cost me 475 euros to replace the footwell module. Since then, I haven't really had any more problems with the Peugeot and, above all, the brake light is working again after the visit to the mechanic. The "brake light implausible" signal was also rectified afterwards. Sometimes it's just a small part that messes up the whole car, but luckily there are mechanics, right? So don't worry, your Peugeot will be fine again!

Great, that sounds very relieving! I think I'll make an appointment with my mechanic tomorrow and ask him to take a closer look at my footwell module. Your information was really helpful, now I feel a bit better prepared. 475 euros is no small amount, but if it gets my car running again then it's definitely worth it. Thanks again! You've just made my day.
