Thanks for sharing your experience! That sounds exactly like what I'm dealing with right now. Glad you got yours sorted out. Can't imagine driving around without proper ventilation, especially when you need to defrost. Do you remember roughly how much the whole repair set you back? Also, has everything been working fine since the fix, or have you noticed any other issues popping up? Just want to get an idea of what I'm potentially looking at here.

Hey again! Great news, I got my BMW fixed and it's been running perfectly since then. The blower motor issue was exactly what my mechanic suspected, and they replaced it right away. Total bill came to 365 € for the parts and labor, which honestly wasn't as bad as I was expecting given it's a BMW repair. Since getting it fixed a few months back, the ventilation system has been working like a charm. No strange noises, all fan speeds working properly, and the climate control is spot on. It's such a relief not having to worry about foggy windows or lack of fresh air anymore! Just make sure you get a mechanic who knows BMWs, it really makes a difference. They'll know exactly where to look and what to check. Mine had it diagnosed and fixed in just a few hours. Worth every penny to have it working properly again. Let me know if you need any other details about the repair. Always happy to help out a fellow BMW owner!

Just got back from the mechanic and wow, what a difference! You were spot on about everything. My blower motor was completely shot, just like yours was. Found a really good BMW specialist who diagnosed it right away. The whole thing cost me a bit more than yours, around 450 € total. But honestly, I'm just relieved it's fixed. They showed me the old motor and it was pretty badly burnt out. No wonder it wasn't working at all! The best part? They had it done in just under 4 hours. Now my ventilation is working perfectly, all speeds running smoothly, no weird noises, and I can finally use my climate control again. Such a relief not having to drive with windows down anymore! Thanks again for your help. It really gave me the confidence to get it sorted quickly instead of putting it off. Definitely keeping this mechanic's number for future repairs!

Hey there! I actually dealt with a similar issue on my 2014 BMW 435i last winter. The blower completely died without warning, no air flow at all, regardless of the speed setting. Took it to my trusted mechanic who found that the blower motor had burnt out. The resistance module was also damaged, which is apparently a common issue when the motor fails. Was honestly a serious problem since you can't defrost windows or use climate control at all. In my case, both parts needed replacement, plus some wiring had melted near the connector. The job took about 3 hours to complete because they had to remove several components to access the blower assembly behind the glove box. Definitely get this checked soon, driving without a working blower isn't just uncomfortable, it's unsafe when you need defrosting. Make sure whoever works on it has experience with BMW electrical systems, as diagnosing these issues correctly the first time saves headaches later.
