BMW XM Blower Dead: AUC Sensor Brings Foul Cabin Odors
Blower does not work properly

Hi again! Thanks for sharing your experience! That sounds exactly like what I'm dealing with now. Appreciate all the details about the wiring harness and connection issues, super helpful. Mind if I ask what the repair ended up costing you? Also, has everything been working fine since the fix, or have you had any other sensor-related problems pop up? Cheers!
Hey again! Good news! After getting it fixed last year, my X7's AUC system has been working perfectly, no more funky smells or blower issues. The mechanic found it was just a bad cable connection that had corroded, so it was actually a simpler fix than when they first thought they'd need to replace the whole sensor unit. Only cost me 95 € to fix, which was way less than I expected. They just had to clean up and repair the plug connection, and boom, problem solved! The blower kicked right back in, and the recirculation started working properly again. Honestly, I got lucky it wasn't anything more serious. Just make sure whoever works on yours checks those connections first before jumping straight to replacing parts. Sometimes the simplest solution is the right one, you know? Let me know how it goes with yours!
Hey there! Just wanted to update you after getting my BMW fixed! You wouldn't believe it, but my issue was also just corroded connections. Took it to a new mechanic who actually spent time diagnosing the problem instead of just throwing parts at it. Got it sorted for about 120 bucks, not too bad at all! The best part? No more nasty smells in traffic, and my blower's working like new. The mechanic showed me where the corrosion was and cleaned up all the connections. Honestly, such a relief it wasn't anything major. Really appreciate your help, saved me from potentially spending way more than needed. It's been running great for the past week with no issues. Sometimes it really pays to ask around before jumping into repairs! Thanks again for all the advice!
Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2019 BMW X7 last year. The AUC (Automatic Air Recirculation) sensor went bad and threw the same error code. Initially thought it was just a blown fuse, but it turned out the main sensor connector had corroded pretty badly. Got it fixed at the garage where they had to replace the entire sensor unit plus clean up the wiring harness. The blower not working was actually connected to this, the system shuts down when it detects these sensor faults. The smell was coming in because the flap wasn't sealing properly due to the faulty sensor. It wasn't a super serious repair in terms of car safety, but definitely not something you want to ignore since it affects your comfort and the cabin air quality. The fix took about 3 hours at the shop. Make sure they check the wiring connections thoroughly, as sometimes just replacing the sensor won't solve it if there's corrosion in the harness. Hope this helps.
