Thanks for sharing your experience! Mine's a bit different though, I just had my last service done at 10802 KM and they checked the battery, which was perfectly fine. The windows actually worked great until yesterday when they suddenly stopped all at once. I'm not seeing any other electrical issues at all, no flickering lights or starting problems. The car runs perfectly smooth otherwise. I might try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to see if that resets the system before taking it to the workshop. Sometimes these fancy electronic systems just need a quick reboot, right? But if that doesn't work, I guess I'll have to get it checked professionally. Really hoping it's just a simple initialization issue and not something more serious. Has anyone else tried the battery disconnect method before taking it in?

Hey there again! Yeah, I remember when I shared my battery story, but you're right, your situation does sound different from what I experienced. Since you've already ruled out the battery, let me share something else that might help. Actually, after I got my X5 back from that first battery issue, I had another window problem about 6 months later. This time it was exactly like yours, all windows stopped working suddenly, but everything else was fine. I tried that battery disconnect trick you mentioned (held it for about 15 minutes), but honestly, it didn't do much in my case. Turned out there was a fault in the body control module (BCM) that needed a software update. When I took it back to the workshop, they plugged in their diagnostic tool and found some communication errors between the BCM and the window controls. The fix was pretty straightforward, they did a software update and recalibrated all the windows. Cost me about 200 bucks, but it's been working perfectly since then. Maybe try that battery disconnect if you want, but based on my experience, you might want to save yourself some time and just get it checked out professionally. These modern cars with all their electronics can be pretty finicky sometimes!

Thanks for that detailed follow-up! That's really helpful information about the BCM issue you had. I think I'll skip the battery disconnect attempt and just take it straight to the workshop tomorrow. No point in potentially making things worse by messing around with it myself. You're absolutely right about these modern cars being finicky with their electronics. It's both amazing and frustrating how computerized everything is nowadays! I'll probably need that diagnostic tool to properly identify what's going on. Given what you've shared, I'm actually feeling a bit more optimistic, sounds like it might just be a software issue rather than something mechanical with all four windows. I'll update the thread once I get it sorted out. Really appreciate everyone's input on this, especially your firsthand experience with a similar issue. This kind of real-world feedback is exactly what I was hoping for when I posted my question. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience!

It's possible that the error message is related to a software glitch or a minor communication issue within the car's electronic systems. I recommend starting with a simple step: try resetting the window by fully lowering it and then raising it back up, holding the switch in the up position for a few seconds after it closes. If the error persists, it might be worth having a diagnostic scan performed to check for any underlying issues. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!

Hey there! I have some experience with cars, and I actually faced a similar issue with my 2020 BMW X5 last winter. When I first noticed all power windows stopped working, I also got error messages on the dash. Turned out my battery was dying, which caused all sorts of electrical issues, including the windows not responding. Took it to my regular workshop, and they diagnosed it right away. The battery replacement was necessary as it couldn't hold a charge anymore. After installing the new battery, they had to reinitialize the window systems. Total cost was around 290 Euro, and it fixed everything perfectly. Before jumping to conclusions though, could you tell me if you're experiencing any other electrical issues? Like flickering lights, slow start, or warning messages? Also, when was the last time you had your battery checked? This info would help determine if you're dealing with the same problem I had. -
