A/C System Not Engaging
Air conditioning blows warm air

Thanks for sharing your experience! Mine has been regularly serviced (last service was 2 months ago) and I've never had AC issues until now. With 184121 KM on the clock, I guess these things can happen. No warning lights showing up, and you're right, good questions! The fan isn't blowing at all when I press the AC button, and I haven't heard any strange noises before it died. It literally just stopped working from one day to the next. Hoping it's just the valves like in your case, though I'm a bit worried it could be the compressor since there's no air flow at all. Would love to hear if anyone else has experienced complete AC failure like this.
Hey there again! Thanks for those extra details about your X7. Actually, your symptoms sound quite different from what I experienced with my X5. In my case, the fan was still working, just wasn't getting cold air, but you're saying yours isn't blowing at all? That's definitely a different beast. Now that you mention it's not even blowing air and there's no response when pressing the AC button, I'm thinking this might be more of an electrical issue rather than the valve problem I had. Could be a blown fuse, faulty relay, or even the blower motor itself. When mine went south with the valves, there was at least some air movement, even if it wasn't cold. Your complete lack of response makes me think you might be looking at a different type of repair altogether. I'd still take it to the shop ASAP though, just be prepared that it might not be the same fix as mine. Really hope it's something simple like a fuse! These AC issues can be tricky to diagnose. Keep us posted on what they find, always good to learn from each other's experiences with these cars.
Thanks so much for the detailed follow-up! You've actually made me feel a bit better knowing it might just be electrical rather than mechanical. I hadn't even thought about checking the fuses, that would definitely be the best-case scenario. I've already called my regular workshop and booked it in for tomorrow morning. You're right that it's probably best to get it checked out ASAP, especially since it's completely unresponsive. I'll definitely update this thread once I find out what the actual problem is. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and think through the symptoms with me, even though it turns out to be different from your valve issue. Fingers crossed it's just a blown fuse or relay! But at least I'm going in better informed now. Thanks again for all the help!

Hello,
What does error 8011B9: potentiometer for air distribution control: short circuit at most or cut on my 2014 BMW X3 18d correspond to?
It's about air conditioning but it works fine
The error code 8011B9 indicates an issue with the potentiometer for air distribution control, suggesting a short circuit or disconnection. This component helps control the direction of airflow within the cabin. Since your AC is working fine, you might not notice immediate issues, but it could affect how air is distributed in the future. Check the wiring and connections to the potentiometer for any visible damage or loose connections. If you're unsure, it's best to have a professional inspect it to prevent potential problems. Let me know if you have any further questions!
I have some experience working on cars and had a similar issue with my 2017 BMW X5. The AC completely died on me last summer, super frustrating! Took it to my regular workshop and they diagnosed defective valves in the AC system. The whole repair, including parts and labor, set me back about 1000 Euro. They had to replace multiple valves to get the system working properly again. Worth every penny though, as it's been working perfectly since then. I also have an X3, but never had AC issues with that one. Before I can give more specific advice about your X7's problem, could you share: Any warning lights on the dash? Does the fan still blow air (just not cold)? Have you noticed any unusual noises from the AC system? Let me know these details and I might be able to help further!
